    Regarding GMaps My Location: I think that the Jar/Jar file that is initially worked with must be downloaded from Google for a device which support My Location because the device information is set inside the jar file, and installing that same software on another device will not change the initial settings. I believe that the GMaps 2.3.1 modified file was initially acquired from google for a device which did not support My Location. When i was looking in the class files i noticed many references to the specific device type. If we can start with a GMaps version from google that is set up for a My Location supported device, then after the mods, My Location will still work on any new device we install it on.
    At this time, My Location (beta) is available for these devices:

    * All Android-powered devices
    * Most BlackBerry devices
    * Some recent Motorola devices
    * Some recent Sony Ericsson devices
    * Many Windows Mobile devices
    * Some Symbian UIQ and Series 60 3rd Edition devices

    CaptSmokey I just wanted to say thank you. Your site and info have been great for this new TMO prepaid user. Before you swapped it out, I had downloaded and used Opera 4.2 MultiMod successfully .. Thanks! I hope you guys figure out 5 soon because I really like that version.

    I see some ppl are still able to use opera mini 4.2 multi-op. luckily, i didn't delete it. As soon as i can, I'll repost opera mini 4.2 multi-op. i'll also add Slohasley's Opera Mini 5 multi-op mod. and Slohasley's Touchscreen enabled google maps mod. I have been working on trying to mod the gmail mobile app, but so far, i haven't had any luck.

    Thanks, I look forward to trying out Opera 5 modded. I edited the 'resources' file to point to the alias you set up, but obviously that wasn't enough for it to work.

    Does anyone think its possible to mod the Opera Desktop software when it uses Opera Turbo? It has the same functionality as Opera Mini, I think, so in theory if you change the default Opera Mini server URLs to something accessible on TMobile Prepaid... In practice since that's not a Java package its probably hard if not impossible.

    Update April 28, 2010:

    I've updated the mobile website, here's what i did:

    Rereleased Slohasley's Opera Mini 4.2 Multi-Op due to popular demand.
    Released Slohasley's Opera Mini 5.0 Multi-Op
    Released Slohasley's Google Maps mod for Touchscreen Phones

    Added 2 more ways to contact me, Twitter and Facebook. Check the contact me section on my websites.

    To do: Finish the downloads section on the website i made for those who tether their tmobile prepaid phones.

    If you can't see the updated web page, delete/clear/reset your cache then restart your browser or reboot your phone.

    Captsmokey6, MUCH props to you for creating that site. The biggest shock to ME was the yahoo access. I had no IDEA we had access to yahoo through tzones. Oh MAN, I get to check my yahoo e-mail now! Yahoo and gmail are the sites that everyone uses, and EVERYONE has a yahoo account. Thanks for doing this work for us tmobile prepaid customers!

    Hi Capt smokey,

    I'm having problems with the om5 setup.
    Should I be using
    http://cs6-tmobile3.zapto.org:80
    for server?
    Do I need to have server address for both http and socks server, or just one of them?

    Also, when I get the license agreement page at the beginning, I can't navigate the cursor to click the 'agree' button. Is there some other to click the 'agree' button? I tried all of the button on my phone, but just can't hit it.

    Thanks.

    You've got the wrong custom server name. Enter the following on the first screen when you start OM5:

    Custom HTTP Server:
    http://cs6-tmobile2.zapto.org:80

    Custom Socket Server:
    socket://cs6-tmobile2.zapto.org:1080

    Leave all the other boxes blank and click OK. You should be good to browse the internet. Next time you start, the custom server names will be already entered so you can just click OK.

    after hearing about tmobile soon adding a high priced data plan for their prepaid customers, i believe a lot of people are worried about the fate of my mobile site and the free internet browsing exploits contained within. Rest assured that i'll do whatever it takes to keep this project going after they released this new plan. I will not let my and slohasley's efforts go down without a fight.

    Glad to hear it! And even if it comes down to donations to keep your project going, I've got your back! You're saving us all a nice chunk of change by providing us with this "loophole" access, and I for one appreciate it GREATLY!

    My phone has an issue when I try to put in a custom host for Opera Mini that it resets back to the default after I enter it. Because of this, I can use Opera Mini 4.2 MultiMod fine (as I dont have to enter a hostname, just choose TMobile To Go) and Mini 3 just fine. Is it possible to have Opera Mini 5 that has the TMobile (cs6-tmobile2.zapto.org) hostname in by default?

    EDIT: You can just edit the JAD file that is provided to change to the settings above. The i9 phone I have just doesn't support Opera Mini 5 I guess though; crashes after starting. Which is not too surprising as the Java support on the phone isn't great. But Opera Mini 4 and 3 works fine.

    Thanks to you and slo for sharing and keep fighting the good fight!

    I'm still having problems with the operam mini 5.

    It seems that this version is made for touch screen phones.

    The initial startup screen requires user to click on the "agree" button on the screen. On my non-touch screen phone, I just can't click on it.

    Is there a non-touch screen version of om5 available?
