whizkid515's portal works for me.

Yeah, it works and even connects at 3G. It never even occurred to me when I bought it that the IMEI could be blocked from prepaid, so I'm glad it wasn't!
I did have a MyTouch 3G that would not work... it would recognize the SIM card and show a good signal strength in the diagnostic screen, but there was an X on the signal strength bars at the top and I couldn't make or receive voice calls. I was able to get an unlock code for it and it worked fine on AT&T. To this day, I don't know if that phone was defective or if it was somehow blocked. Even the TMO CSR couldn't figure that one out, but she did confirm its IMEI was not blacklisted and she thought a prepaid SIM should work.
Anyway, Nexus Ones are in the clear. 3G works too, although to little benefit because videos don't play.
Opera Mobile is a direct web browser (Opera Mini runs everything through a proxy), so you'd need a daypass to browse with it (or you could browse using the proxies on my portal, but one doesn't work with many sites and the other's very slow). Which Opera Mini version were you trying to install?
T-Mobile didn't sell it themselves officially. It was sold through Google, then T-Mobile subsidized it if you got a plan, so the IMEI was never added into their system as an Android phone. The HD2 works with this as well and can run Android flawlessly (as of February, but I don't think T-Mobile would have blocked it).

hi, whizkid515:
Thank you for the Proxy, it works on my unlocked nokia c6-01.
I downloaded and installed your om6 (advanced), but it doesn't work. When I run it, it uses Tmobile internet, not T-zone. I am new to smartphone. Please help. Thanks
I don't know how to do this on your phone, but make sure that the T-Zones APN is set to default. If it still connects to T-Mobile Internet when using OM6, try deleting the T-Mobile Internet APN.
Also, to everyone else, if you were having connection problems with Opera Mini 4.3 or 6, I fixed it. I posted the fixed versions around 5 PM (EST) yesterday, so try re-downloading them.

Proxies (not mine, so be careful with logins):

http://tmobile.cache-001.appspot.com/ <--You need to enter the full URL including the site you're going to or else it'll lose the tmobile, so enter the whole thing like http://tmobile.cache-001.appspot.com/[website] Also, if this goes over quota, you can substitute 001 for any number 001-258, just make sure it's 3 digits, like 009, 010.

If the appspot proxies don't work (over quota), pick any one from this list or this list and add tmobile or m.yahoo.com in front of it like I did in the above links.

Is there any place I can download the Android version of OM6 Mini using my PC? I try to download it using my phone, and it doesn't work. I can't get to http://tmobileportal.co.cc with my computer, it only seems to work from my phone.
6.0, the one form ovi store. it only gets the fake installer which then needs data access to download the real installer and i am not willing to pay $1.5 for that. i haven't tried to install anything through unofficial means yet, will do later.
thanks for your proxies and all
I'm wondering if this issue has been solved or more info is available as to why but... on a MyTouch 4G with a entirely different ROM than the stock (RoyalGinger) and a newer Radio Firmware it fails to connect to any of the proxies or OperMini over EDGE or 3G (HSPA+ not available here) .. I tried switching Sim cards but failed.. while on my HD2 with either Android or WP7 it works Just fine
It doesn't matter what ROM or radio you have. T-Mobile blocks based on IMEI, and they block all of the Android phones they sell (even unbranded).
You have to install a modified version (like the ones on my portal, or the handler mod with ?tmobile in the backquery field) or else it won't connect.
Update: I updated my portal with more proxies. Just click the proxy generator link and it'll take you to any of about 30 Appspot proxies. If you get one that's over quota, just go back and click the proxy generator again until you get one that works. Enjoy!

This is awesome stuff, thanks Whizkid for all the hard work. I have a jailbroken iPhone and I tried installing opera mini. Howerver, only the m.yahoo.com trick works for me, and so the opera mini with the "tmobile" server isn't working. Is there any way to have a m.yahoo.com.operamini.com server? Thinking that might work...
Thanks - Paul
