Attention All T-Mobile Pre-Paid Customers!

T-Mobile appears to be blocking all of their branded Andoid phones as well as Google Developer phones, the Google Ion and Nexus One from almost all of prepaid T-Zones except for the My Account section. None of the usual T-Zones hacks have worked on these phones for over a year.

Woah!!! I just tried it with my V3xx I was using before I got my G1 and it works! Well that really sucks... Maybe a wrapper or user agent bypass program could allow these programs to work?

Incredible news Android users! User Agent bypassing works to access the links in OP!

I'm using a program called UserAgentSwitcher from the app marketplace and so long as I spoof the iPhone (default User Agent alternative) I'm able to access the links!

There's no bookmarking in the app, and it redirects you to a stupid site Japanese site upon launch, but it works! I will try the other User Agent spoofer and get back here!

You don't need to change the User Agent. It was merely a coincidence that Tmobile recently allowed the trick to work on their Android and other 3g phones. Those legacy t-zone web sites however still won't connect.

I tried to modify the Android Opera Mini, repacked and resigned the apk file. But I still got an error during the installation. Maybe someone can come up with a working mod someday.

I just read the android post, but couldn't download the .apk. I think the thread has been moved/deleted. Can you post the .apk somewhere else?

Yes. One Admin thinks they are illegal and deleted them. It is so hypocritical that most of the mods/exploits on the xda site are either using copyrighted materials or exploit carriers' subsidized phones or services (e.g. unlocking, hacking, rooting, tethering, force roaming, using other carriers's PRL etc. ) which are the same as my mod in the essence. The Admin gave me an explanation that it is illegal because Tmobile didn't come out and say "use my internet free", so it is illegal. I am wondering which Software/Hardware manufacturer has come out and told them "come, hack/mod our phone/software and distribute the copyright stuff freely", or which carrier has come out and told them "come, hack our subsidized phone so you don't have to use our service, hack the registry so you don't have to pay the tethering...".

I've upload the files to RS. WM and Android.

i don't understand how it is not illegal to distribute TOMTOM navigation software and not yours they didn't get any rights from TOMTOM but they are allowed to distribute it idk why some XDA mods are doing that maybe they don't want the word spreading all the way to T-Mobile and then they block it i will test this CAB right now on my Treo and Share my results
UPDATE: i just tried it and it either takes for ever to load an webpage or its not working because i didn't get one webpage working at all

Try going to settings, advanced, protocol, choose HTTP. The default is Socks, which takes some time for the Opera to try and find out it is not working and switch to HTTP itself.

thanks so much this is amazing now i can surf the web for free with a web browser made just for wm this is amazing thanks so much im definitely cooking this in my ROM may i ask how you were able to mod opera

I posted the details on XDA but am now waiting for their site admins to determine if the posts should be recovered or not. Being told that Tmobile monitors this forum, I'd choose to PM you the method.

Hello everybody, I got some news for all of you. Even though i still have problems, i been able to speed up the pace somewhat. Hopefully soon, a major update to the mobile portal will be released. It's a complete rewrite of the portal, and it will run exclusively within my proxy. The current and soon to be old portal will remain online if you don't want to be proxified. For the curious, i attached some screen shots of the new portal, which may be modified before it's released.



@tmpid: Thanks for the WM and Android mods, if you want, i'll add them to the downloads page once i finish remaking the portal.
