    How safe is it to access login sites like gmail and facebook with this modified Opera? Is it going through an unsecured proxy?
    It goes to Opera's servers (no redirect, just a string added onto Opera's server URL) encrypted, where the page (i.e. facebook) is decrypted and compressed/formatted, and then re-encrypted when it's sent back to your phone.

    I'd say it's safe enough for facebook and email, but I wouldn't enter any information such as a credit/debit, social security, etc.

    Just to confirm:
    1. T-mobile LG optimus T P509 (optimus one) works perfectly;
    2. T-mobile HTC HD2 (Android rom) works perfectly;
    3. HTC Fuze (Android rom) works perfectly;
    Thanks Whizkid!!!

    But can still do nothing for my Jailbroken iphone. Is there any way to download a opera mini 5 ipa file? I don't know how to use a hex editor to modify the opera mini 6.1

    I have a friend who recently got a Optimus T with prepaid who says that he can login to skype uding wifi, then disconnecting wifi, and he can use skype and even calls through skype. I was on the other end of that call, and I guess it worked. I was never able to reproduce this with my T-mobile wing and its skype program.

    Is anyone else able to reproduce this?

    I don't support this, since VoIP uses a lot of mobile data, but I'd expect this loophole to be closed very soon. AIM's server was open on port 80 for about 4 days in July last year, and T-Mobile shut off access without anyone even making that public.

    Opera's download page suggests 4.3 for the E63 on java.

    You can download the sis file off of Opera's site and then mod it yourself with x-plore apparently. I'll PM the tutorial.

    It's not even remotely the same loophole. This one has nothing to do with SMS.

    I don't have a phone that runs IE, but I doubt it. It didn't work on iPhone Safari with either W4Z or Kolgames proxies. W4Z looked like it was going to work, but was too slow and I guess the download of the map timed out. Kolgames didn't display anything.

    Since a lot of the proxies use m.yahoo.com is anyone else having problems viewing/opening yahoo mobile or yahoo mail on m.yahoo.com? Since 9/19 on several smartphone handsets (Mogul, Dash, 3 Moto Q9Cs) using pocket internet explorer browsers bundled with WM6.1, and WM6.0, yahoo mobile is displaying a blank page. However, Yahoo mobile seem to does work with WM5.0 and the IE that is bundled with it. I can open any other website on my handsets, but for some reason mobile yahoo or yahoo mail do not work - they open, but there is no transfer of data (0 KB), and there is a blank screen. I have never had this problem before. This problem occurs regardless if the connection is made thru a wireless provider or thru a home wifi network. I have tried clearing cookies and it allows me to get to a login page, but after I open the login information I get connection, but there is no download of data (0 KB) and there is a blank screen. There were no error codes displayed on my handset. I seem convinced there is a conflict with mobile yahoo and this certain versions of WM internet explorer. Could be a regional thing in California.
