You should get w/e speeds the OM proxy server can handle over the connection you have.

OM doesn't support downloads in the app.

The limitation is based on the what code the OM proxy server allows you to view. It is fairly unrestricted, but occasionally you find a site that doesn't function.

You can tether, but only if the device connecting to the phone has a modded OM to browse with, a laptop would require an emulator.

I doubt anyone could bypass a data cap no matter the technique. The OM mod just gives us a route through the payment captive portal they provide to get to the OM proxy server allowing browsing of just the content it can render.

Which OM Proxy Server do you recommend? most stable, fastest etc.

Theoretically, could one tether an Android tablet and use the modded OM on the tablet to browse the Web? Would you need to change any settings in the phone or tablet to browse through the captive payment portal instead of the devices attempting a regular Web connection?

I think I was not clear about bypassing a data cap. What I meant to say is browsing the Web using the modded OM through the captive payment portal completely unmetered? In other words, Web browsing via this method is not counted toward the data cap on your data plan by Tmobile? Is that correct?

If I exceed my data cap (when not using the modded OM ) will browsing using this method also be throttled?

The modded OM has the proxy integrated. OM uses a proxy to begin with, it is modified to point to a DynDNS address including the captive portal redirect address in the name which also points back to the normal OM proxy.

If it can run the OM app, then yes, and no need to change any settings unless you tether in ways that require a proxy, which may not work. A laptop can't run OM so will need a emulator. No user-agent + proxy config will work, it has to be the OM app.

NO!!, there is no way to use OM to hide data usage, you're still using data... it only provides a way to browse without having a data plan. Yes, you will still be throttled.

Has anybody used the prepaid internet recently? It worked for me unti June 12. Is it dead now? Neither the OM nor the Tombile1.tk site work for me.

It's working for me. AFAIK, T-mobile stopped allowing URLs with tmobile in the it to pass through the walled garden. Urls with u.web2go.com still pass through.

Any want to modify this Windows Phone 7 Opera Mini port from XDA and include the proxy hack.

File is OperaMini5.1.xap unzip it to view contents which includes a Windows Mobile OperaMini5-WM-armv4.exe

Should be easy mod just replace the OperaMini5-WM-armv4.exe with modded OperaMini5-WM-armv4.exe

Opera Mini is still working for my Android phone, however I haven't been able to get on with Opera_Mini_61_Hui202.jar on my Nokia E72 that runs only Java applications. Tried using putting in u.web2go but still wouldn't work. Is this happening to anyone else ? Access Point Name = wap.voicestream.com . If it is working for anyone can you please explain the process step by step ? I've been trying to find a solution for quite awhile.

Chances are, you're not putting in the correct information. You need to enter: u.web2go.com.server4.operamini.com:80 into the Front Query.

It finally works ! For the people that it doesn't work. The settings are correct. Just be sure to choose the Allow Once option instead of Allow for this session option when installing !

Tmobile keywords/URLs stopped working in march...read each post from like page 76 to current, you should find what you need. The quote you made has the version he uses, so why you asking? He is using a handler mod version of java OM, the latest version being in the link from post #1269. You need to use the version your phone requires, now either find it yourself or post what phone you use, so someone can help.

Here is an mod of OperaMini v7.0.3, the latest version for Android

I still can't figure out where to mod the default setting for Http over Socket, so will need to be manually changed to Http for it to work on Tmobile.

Also a new mod of OperaMini 7.0.2 the latest for IOS, requires resigning with Ldone, Ldid, or Signperm. Tested - working
