Buy WIND Phone, Move SIM Into T-Mobile Phone. Does it Work?

    Hello,

Any word on moving a SIM card from a WIND phone to a recent unlocked T-Mobile phone (that supports AWS)? Does this work?

I assume the answer is yes, as I believe they don't have IMEI locking.

This provides a loophole if you want to bring your expensive phone to WIND's network. And will it continue working, if you insert another WIND subscriber's SIM into the original WIND phone? If so, then you can just simply resell that phone to somebody else locally on kijiji/craigslist who wants to use WIND, if you're insistent on using your own phone.
    Thanks,

.... or you can save $130 from not needing to buy the Huawei phone and wait until they actually sell individual SIM cards? Or am I missing the fact that they ruled out the possibility of selling them at all?

Edit: I'm guessing individual SIM card sales will come eventually. Getting the main service up and ready on short notice was probably their priority.

Maybe they want to spend their CSRs' energy first on people buying 100% supported phones before they have to deal with throngs of people trying to shove a Wind SIM into an incompatible phone?

They will. My guess is that they will allow the option within one week of DAVE launching.

I'm guessing they may be trying to move a lot of their stock as well. The more they can sell, the better prices they get from the manufacturers.

And of course, the more of their stock stays behind, the more money they lose, which is important to a brand new company with a multi-billion dollar debt.

Did they try to get the T-mobile SIM to register on wind?

I've been trying all day. No T-Mobile roaming on WIND yet. Probably won't go live until January.
