    "1700". The 2100 part isn't even important when it's listed in the specs.

    On phone specs
    1700 = 1700up/2100dn
    2100 = 1900up/2100dn

    There are some devices that only lists 1700 by itself, and they are compatible. And in phone specs, "1700/2100" actually means it's compatible with both AWS (T-Mobile and WIND) and IMT (Euro Asia).

    Safest bet is to look for UMTS BAND IV or AWS compatibility.

    There HTC maple is listed as only having 2100 so that's why I asked. It would give me more options for phones. Right now the N900 is the only really option for Nokia for wind and it's to costly right now.

    WIND decided to list all their phones as "AWS" instead of "1700". If you look carefully you'll see "AWS" listed in the specs of all their devices.

    I am still confused with Wind’s pricing.

    Assuming a phone is activated in Toronto and used in Calgary, Niagara Falls, Vancouver and the US; what would be the respective out of plan In/Out prices for voice and SMS?

    Just back from Pacific mall. All Sony Ericsson Jalou / Bijou I tried (3 or 4 stores) had only UMTS band 1 and none of them was able to connect to wind home (no wonder) with wind sim card. Sales personnel had no clue about umts bands and were unaware that phone won't work on wind, phones were actually marketed as "wind compatible". Beware!!!!!!!!. I think it worth to be added into FAQ

    I found an official spec for Jalou - http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/corp...fication/jalou

    It does not support UMTS 1700MHz and should be excluded from the list of the compatible phones

    It looks like there's also an AWS version: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_jalou-2895.php

    So, it should be starred (*) in the list of compatible phones.

    Sony ericcson website does not contain any information about AWS model, it simply does not exists. It could be a typo on a gsmcamera website.

    Why is the CLIQ listed when GSMArena lists it as HSDPA 1700?
    I thought Wind required UMTS 1700.

    HSPA is just an enhance version of UMTS. WIND's network is actually HSDPA.

    For the purpose of phone specs you can say UMTS = WCDMA = HSPA = HSDPA = HSUPA = HSPA+ = "3G GSM"

    They are all 3G UMTS technologies.

    C905i

    I see that the Sony Ericsson CS8 (C905i) is posted being able to work on Wind Mobile, after googling around I found out that the CS8 never came out, and the C905i is the international version of the C905, and it doesn't have 1700 MHz, only 2100 MHz.

    let me know if I'm wrong , I wanted to get the C905 for Wind Mobile.

    Question:
    I'm on Rogers now. I will switch to Wind eventually but the timing isn't right yet. But I'd like a new phone as my current one is starting to get on my nerves. Anyway, I'm looking at the Nexus 1.

    So my question is, which version of the N1 should I buy? Ideally I would get the T-Mo version, and use it on Rogers (without 3G) for the time being. I can survive with Wifi. But if that won't work, I wouldn't mind buying the AT&T version and just living without 3G when I do switch, until I'm ready to replace the N1.

    So:
    T-Mobile version will work on Rogers for voice and EDGE (True/False)
    AT&T version will work on Wind for voice only (True/False)
