For those considering any Android phone, please check which software version it comes with (Galaxy=1.5?) and be sure you get an official commitment in writing that your carrier will be upgrading your phone to the limits of it's hardware. Many apps now take advantage of Android 1.6 and there are many that will run only on 2.0.
Don't be left behind like the Rogers Dream/Magic users as Google freely updates Android regularly but Canadian carriers still don't understand that these are computers with phones and should be updated as new features are added.
Put pressure on them also to give you access to PAID apps in the Android store.

Hrm ... in any case it would seem that Android 1.5 cannot be upgraded to 1.6+ ... http://androidforums.com/samsung-i75...urce-code.html

Well then this seems to be final and should be pointed out to anyone considering a Samsung Android Galaxy- your phone is usable but cannot be upgraded to newer versions of Android. Choose another phone.Originally Posted by talktwo
