    straight talk coverage

I am a current Net10 phone owner, but was curious about Straight Talk. I was under the impression that my CDMA phone used Verizon towers and towers of smaller regional companies, like US Cellular, in my area. Is Straight Talk "Verizon only" or would it also use towers from smaller CDMA companies for even better coverage? Thanks!

large enough area looks like you would not need roaming

Yeah, really there are only a few states where it looks like there is poor coverage and mostly in the rural areas or in literally no man's land in the mountains.

Unless you travel. On a recent trip from New Orleans up through western Mississippi into SE Missouri my Page Plus phone activated on Verizon roamed quite often. But PPC allows roaming (for a price) so I was always able to make a call.

    Harvey,

I think you joined the forum just to complain about Straight Talk. I have no problem with the service. Well worth the money to me. No coverage issues here. It's $45 a month. You're not going to get Verizon's CS and Phone selection for less than half price.

Hey everyone.I just wanted to comment on my "New" Straighttalk cellular service. It is AWESOME!!!!!.I went with the $45 a month plan and my first phone was the LG 220C.What a great phone.I always had 1 to 2 bars wherever I went. That is right ,it works on Verizon network.I get a signal EVERYWHERE!!!!!I love to text, usually about 700 or more a day. With my Straighttalk phone I have actually been able to cut that number down to about 10.If I travel I can probably get it lower that that. That Carlos Slim, always looking out for the little people.Anyway I sort of got tired of this phone and wanted to upgrade to the next phone, the LG 290C slider......freaking awesome!!!!!!!.With this phone I get 1 to 2 bars wherever I go and it is still on the Verizon network. How cool is that?Hhmmmn? you know I do not get as many calls as I used to or text messages either.I guess everyone is just busy.I know they will get in touch with me as soon as they can because they know I have got my new Straighttalk phone and it is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
