c905 problems and question

So I got this phone for christmas. (c905i) And I had a few troubles at first but nothing a quick post on these forums didn't clear up. But a few days have gone by and new problems have developed. Any help would be appreciated.

1) The middle button (used for menu and selection) is not working. But when I turn the phone off for about 5 or 6 minutes and then turn it back on it magically works again for about.......5 or 6 minutes.
What is the problem and how can this be fixed?

2) when I turn the phone off and back on it makes the sounds of it starting up but the screen just stays black.......and then I have to let it sit for (go figure) 5 or 6 minutes before the screen shows.

please help with this problem as best you can

See if you can update the firmware. That may help but it seems like you have a defective phone

I tried using the update service from the sony website and no dice. Still on the fritz

i had this problem too. the button works but the menu that pops up is what normally pops up when i press the side rocker switch (volume button).

i sent my phone in to sony ericsson.
i will write back when i get the phone back to tell you if they fixed it.
i did NOT buy a warranty, by the way.

they repaired it
i got it today. they received it on the 12th. so 10 days from the day they receive it before you get it back
