    I'm waiting on 4G -- i think?

    I bought my iphone the first day they went on sale at Apple... so it's on Edge.

    I'm wanting to wait for the next version (4G) i guess but who knows what Apple will call it or who will sell it.

    Does anyone have any clues as to when it'll launch or anything...?

    Not likely we will see the next iPhone until summer 2010. Keep in mind the designations 2G, 3G refer to the generation of cellular data speed connections and the 3GS was a hardware/software upgrade of the 3G.
    If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

    I have the SW 3.1.2 version and love it.... but would hate to buy 3Gs and a couple mon later 4G pops up.

    So if you really want a 3g or 3gs but also want the 4g went it comes out, buy one on craigslist or ebay so that you would still be eleggible for an upgrade

    It bothers me when people use the term 2G to describe the original iPhone. Just throwing that out there.

    Actually that's exactly what it was called, just "iPhone".

    And the next, fourth generation iPhone will not be called iPhone 4G, nor will it contain any 4G technologies. It'll be called "iPhone 3G <something something>".

    Overheard in the Apple store from the Apple Genius it's going to be called the iPhone 3G5 for the 5 megapixel camera it's suppose to have.

    Um, yeah, I think we can pretty much rule that out. The name that is. The 5 MP camera is very much a possibility.
