Android 2.1 Pre-Update thread for Motorola Droid

Bummer no update for myself and it's 2 minutes past noon now.

I guess I'll be looking forward to Thursday. I'm off work all day so I should have plenty of time to play around with it.


If someone here does get it. Any way we can install it with a USB cable if they could somehow upload the file on a torrent, ftp, or rapidshare?

Ya if someone uploads the update.zip we can put it onto our SD card and boot into recovery mode to install the update.

figures...just today I decided to root the phone and try a 2.1 ROM. Probably finished setting up my phone around 11:55, then saw THIS news!

We should have the update.zip this evening, a user at Android Forums says his wife apparently got the update notice and he told her not to update. When he gets home from work he's going to try to get the update.zip off the phone. Here's hoping it's the actual update and not just some stupid app update she got.
