Motorola Shadow Pre-Release Thread

I’m dying here with no good pictures to go on

Which is surprising to me. The other sites barely have mention of it. Basically everyone is stuck on the Incredible and Microsoft's Pink phones (which will disappoint).

I would expect some Shadow leaks soon, maybe after the upcoming Microsoft/Verizon announcements? I really don't know, just guessing. Of course that would take some sort of marketing knowledge which is something Motorola desperately lacks.

Droid had good marketing because Verizon did it. Motorola's idea for marketing is Megan Fox in a bath tub (I am betting was just someone's fantasy and not some great marketing idea). Sure she looked good, but does anyone even remember what phone she had? Did it even matter?


(note, I am all for Megan Fox in a bathtub I just wish they had figured out a way to make the phone in that ad matter, instead of any phone on the market being able to do the same thing)

Can anybody help clarify these questions:

1) Is it true that the Shadow doesn't have a keyboard?

2) Will either of these 2 phones (Shadow or Droid2) be sold through Google like the Nexus One? It would be nice to be able to buy it unlocked...

3) Which carriers will these phones be available on at launch? GSM/HSPA or CDMA/EVDO?

I'm in Canada and I'm really looking forward to see what Motorola has in store.. I'm a little disappointed about the things that I've read about the Nexus One (no true multitouch, strange sub-pixel arrangement, 3G reception issues for some people).

Oh that's a shame... I hope they bring it (either Droid2 or Shadow) here to Canada with 850/1900 like they did with the Droid (Milestone). But if they do, I'm sure there will be a few months of delay...

Oh, and it isn't for Verizon. I know the name leaked about 2-3 months ago, but no one seems to have put it together yet (if you do, the specs were wrong back than).

Yeah, sure. Not much to be excited about though (unless it's packing that new dual-core Snapdragon CPU...and I kinda doubt that )

If I had to guess what the codename is, I'd guess its the Ruth (http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/15/m...t-interesting/), but that's just a guess based on what Winston said. At least if it is, thats one less phone with one of those terrible MSM7200 chips.

I havent seen "ruth" come by my desk soI would guess its for another carrier.

far as droid2 we need another thread started on it,its off topic to much here.but ill say its coming soon. looks like shadow and then droid2 arenear the same release time frame.

So the Droid 2 is ahead of schedule? fudjkfsdh I don't want to keep waiting to use my upgrade hahah. At the rate I'm going I'm never going to actually use it...

Does that mean Shadow is going to be more October-ish or Droid2 is more summer-ish (June/July)? As I sit here looking at my Razr I'm getting restless.
