ahhh thanks! Google image searches for Motorola Shadow were spitting out the Droid 2 images, of those actual Shadow images where you can not see the whole device.

All that said, do you really find Verizon's 3G to be slow? Unless you are trying to stream HD video I can't see how most will be effected.

Totally OT, but.....
I find 3G slow. If I'm web browsing on my BB or if I am tethered to my laptop, I find it to be really slow. I'm just talking about web browsing, not trying to download movies or anything. I tried watching streaming Netflix and Hulu on my tethered laptop, but it was a disaster. That's with full signal in multiple locations on three different Blackberries.

Bill said that the Droid 2 went through another hardware change and won't be making the time frame as expected, so I'm guessing it'll be pushed to maybe September?

Same here. I'm waiting until both come out so that I can choose . I'm hoping that the Droid 2 is just the Shadow with a keyboard that would win me in a heartbeat. Who knows, but it better be a good change in regards to the keyboard because the Droid's is not really usable .

On another note. Is there anyone who codes in Java? I was wondering why some apps, like the game emulators don't use transparent layouts over the app (ie iPhone apps), but instead have to crop the app to make room for the control/s layout?

Because I enjoy OT....

Take your BB and than find someone else with a different manufacturer's 3G phone. Than run a speed test while they are side by side, the BB will be slower.

And guess what, BB thinks that everyone should move to Edge Evolution and that phone should reduce their bandwidth footprint.
Basically BB is great for secure email, but as a multimedia/internet device it will be lacking until the culture there changes.

Lol. Is there a way to change the first post of this thread to put up some specs?

Shadow (through sources, so they can change until final build):
- 4.3" screen
- resolution?
- TI OMAP 3630
- 720p recording
- 512MB RAM
- FM Radio
- GPS
- HDMI port
- USB port
- Android 2.1 running Moto Blur with 7 homescreens
- Very thin and light
- 4 physical buttons on front (Back, Menu, Home, Search)
- Slated for a June release for Verizon if everything goes well

Not known:
- 8MP camera
- AMOLED/OLED/TFT...
- ROM / Storage
- External storage (ie card slot)

Nothing is really known about the Droid 2, only that it has:
- 4.3" screen
- QWERTY keyboard

That is an incredibly old render. The Droid 2 is so far into the future that it may not even be released, and if it is, it will go through so many hardware changes from that picture that it's not even worth pointing out things you don't like in it.

Nothing, it is just a new Android phone for a cdma carrier.
That's fine - that's sort of what this thread is about anyway - just people interested in up and coming phones. Granted, the thread title is for a Moto, but considering how off-topic we tend to get, that link is rather on topic.
