What I wonder is if this counts as your HUP. Is the 2-year hardware upgrade date from the time you get your magic?

Seems like a pretty standard deal. They just had the dream and magic on for a buck, seems to be the same thing to me.

I know it is, and even like that the little more RAM that the Magic has helps it to run faster a normal Sense ROM.

Now if a slimed down Sense ROM works good for the Dream, I dont see why not a well put 2.1 ROM will run well on the Magic.
New LG`s Android phone will have almost the same (if not a touc less) specs as the magic and will use 2.1.
So I dont see the problem here.

Try compairing web browsing to the droid or nexus one and you'll see the difference. Lso think about the processing power that may be needed for games eing developed and being able to handle full flash browsing.

Regardless I am on the phone right now with rogers to see if they know anything ab out this upgrade

update: The rep originally didn't know what I was talking about but he put me on hold and found. Getting the Magic in a few days.

Nothing really. Just a 3-year contract renewal starting from when you upgrade your phone. But for most people, they're only 7 months into a 3-year contract anyways, so it's not too long of an extension. Only 1-7 months, depending on when you bought your HTC Dream.

You have until Jan. 26th to do this promotion if you've had a Dream since before the end of December.

As u might be right, guess we really wont know ntill its out.
Guess is gonna take that long for all the optimizing they gotta do for it to run the best as posible on the Magic.
    Im still optimistic tho ..

Now I kindda wished I got a Dream instead of the Magic, in 5 days I would have 2 phones, one to sell for dirt cheap and get a bigger SD card for the Magic lol

That's exactly what I plan on doing: selling my Dream to someone.

Tomorrow after I get home from school I'll have to check for one of those missed parcel slips at the lobby of my building. I chose the Canada Xpresspost shipping though so I think it will take longer.
