iPhone WiFi tether via infrastructure mode

Okay so here's the deal. I have an iPhone 3g running OS 3.0, jailbroken. I can tether to my laptop no problem via USB or Ad-Hoc. What I want to do is tether my Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet (non-android edition) to my iPhone, but Ad-Hoc WiFi connections are disabled on the Archos, and I have yet to find a way to WiFi tether via infrastructure mode. Please help!!! Thank you.

Sometimes on things like the archos, ad-hoc may work but it is not possible to create a network yourself.

So if you are using PDAnet and it wont work, try MyWi.

If that doesn't work you're boned. Good luck!

Yeah I tried both PDAnet and MyWi, neither work. I need an alternative to ad-hoc because the Archos 5 won't even SEE those networks, although it can see normal networks in infrastructure mode.

there is no other alternative, you're basically SOL on getting it to see the iPhone

    Progress

Well I was able to tether my iPhone to the laptop the use the laptop as the access point using Connectify. But I have yet to find a direct way to tether the phone and the Archos without the laptop as the go-between :"(
