The monthly costs are the same, really. The only difference price wise is what you pay up front.
The Galaxy is a little under powered for an Android device. But i'd still prefer Android over the iPhone.

iPhone 3G S
Samsung Galaxy with Google
Hey all,
I am interested in a new phone, I like the iPhone and I hear good things about the Samsung Galaxy but what do you guys think is better with Bell in terms of rates and specs?.

Hmm this is suprising, I was thinking the galaxy would be a better deal too. The firmware was something I was worried about but it has to be upgradable through a download or something, nothing is impossible with technology. Only thing I will have to do is get a 32gb micro sd card for all my music, i wonder if 64gb ones exist yet?. I have alot of music and I've filled up my 32GB ipod touch.Originally Posted by M83Live

I have some burning questions that I can't get ahold of bell to ask, after this that answers all my questions about the Galaxy. Thanks in advance.
I cannot find any 32GB micro sd cards anywhere, are they out yet or what?.
Also, I tried contacting Bell through Email though it wont let me send it for some reason on their website... my question to them was:
With the Samsung Galaxy and the $50/month data plan, how much data is there? it's not listed on their site.. even telus has that listed in their plans.
Also... If I was just surfing the net with the web browser... how fast could I use up my data plan at $50/month with the Samsung Galaxy?. And is the GPS feature limited to my data plan too? or is that free?.

I was wondering the same question as the OP, iphone or Galaxy. I went with the Galaxy. I love it. Awesome little phone IMO. I had a BB curve before, and this thing blows it away. Plenty of un-restricted apps, and easily customizable. There are a couple of things though. There are no paid apps available in Canada, yet. Also, i work in a lot of remote areas, and since it is a 3g only phone, i don't get service in a lot of places, not that the iphone would have been better, but i'll buy the next Android "world phone" that i can get my hands on. Overall, i really like my Galaxy, yes it could be faster (processor), but it's good the way it is. I don't know what benefits it would get by going to Android 1.6 or 2.0, but i agree it would be nice to have the latest OS. It's like being stuck with a Windows XP computer, yes it works great, but there are a bunch of things in 7 that are better, as i'm sure it is with Android 2.0 .
Hmm thanks for the reply. Glad to hear you love the phone I just chose to get. The iPhone.. I've used in my ipod touch, I like it but I like the sound of running free multiple apps, being able to buy micro sd cards, more minutes available on contracts versus the iphone, having all my contacts SYNC with my google account via the web universally. Those are the benefits so far, it hasn't arrived yet, but I hope 32GB micro SD cards come out soon, I just bought a 16GB one, should hold half my music, at least I know this baby supports up to 32GB cards when they come out. I like windows XP, I think I will survive 1.6, we'll see though, but open source sounds good to me!.
