My plan is essentially priceless because of the lovely add-ons I have been blessed with. No wireless carrier on the planet can touch what I get for what I pay.

The new ET plans had me running our plan cost numbers (I ain't changing), but when I added up my current sprint plan, using either att or vzw numbers, my plan would cost double what I'm paying. The early N&W, low charge data, pick 3, etc. I had to make allowances, in that a lot of these features are included in the higher minute plans, but not in my lower minute plan. How about yours?

I was trying not to be as exuberant as you, but I sort of felt that way. I only wish either sprint or other carriers would match it.Originally Posted by timeless2

In my experience, AT&T has much more reliable international SMS service, and better incoming call reliability.
Sprint has much better call audio quality.
Every GSM phone i've ever used has had better battery life than similar CDMA phones.
From a standpoint of customer service, I've had mixed experiences with both companies. Sprint's has improved over the past 24 months a great deal. AT&T's has stayed about the same, and has a lot of room for improvement.
In the end, it's what you are willing to pay vs what you want and need. No one company works for everyone, and all of the companies have issues. price isn't everything, but it is a factor worth considering.

I'm ditching Sprint at the end of this month and switching to Boost CDMA. I'll be stuck with the same phone, but it meets my needs well enough. And for half the price. I'll lose roaming, but will fill in the gaps with prepaid and payphones.
I've done the same thing with Boost Mobile iDEN since DC comes in handy with work from time to time. Google Voice makes it a breeze. Boost Mobile has good coverage down here in Oregon. How often do you roam?Originally Posted by TProphet

Roaming coverage is very important to me when I travel, and like most folks in the Great Northwest I spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer. However, the number of minutes I use goes way down when I travel. Filling in the gaps with a CDMA Tracfone will even cover me in Alaska, and for much less than the $600 per year extra that Sprint will cost me for the same thing. $50 unlimited is the new standard, and postpaid hasn't caught up yet.
This was sort of my point for o/p--I'm not paying anywhere near $600 a year, hardly more than a pre pay, which makes it a great bargain. Not so with current rates from any carrier.
My plan is worth about $30 a month for the type of Sprint services in this area. In other areas it would be worth more.
