No phone sold by Bell/Telus/Rogers/Fido will work with Wind. Only phones that will work with Wind not sold by Wind would be T-Mobile USA 3G phones unlocked, and the Nokia N900.
Besides I think Wind are still not accepting non-Wind phones.
wind will accept non-wind phones, you just ahve to go to the store so they can test the phone to ensure compatibility before they'll sell you their service (also they offer FREE sim cards)
The samsung gravity is very likley to work, which is more or less that i am asking about, because wind sells the samsung gravity "2" not sure if there's a difference, and samsung's site really isn't very detailed with the bands the "non 2" version supports.

By far I have not seen any phone that will support both 850/1900 and 1700 simultaneously.
The Samsung Gravity specs (gsmarena.com) are listed as GSM Quad Band with GPRS/EDGE. It will NOT operate on the Wind network.
The Gravity 2 is listed as GSM Quad Band (850/1900, 900/1800 MHz) with AWS.
It will operate on Wind (They sell it). It will operate (if unlocked) with Rogers/Fido, albeit in GSM mode only. IT will NOT operate in 3G mode with the latter network(s).
SEMPER IN MERDA SVM. SOLVM PROFVNDVM EST QVOD VARIAT.
Why do people really care if others choose to sign an agreement just to get the phone for free or cheaper?
Unlike the HoFo community, most normal people buy cell phones every two or three years. The price plans are all the same, no matter if you are on agreement or not. So it only makes sense for those who don't replace their phone so often to save that money at the beginning.
Anyways.. The curve is a nice addition to the line-up. I think it will sell nicely.

Chances are its Rogers' old stock of the Gravity being rebadged for fido; kinda like the 8100
PHONEMODO I swap phones cause I can! Isn't Hipstamatic just awesome?
No! But this is what you wrote couple days ago here!
My contract actually ends on July 2010 -- but the Retention offer I got will expire on March 19 -- So, I'm not sure if I should take it or wait till my end of term..
Doesn’t Fido already have enough low-end slider and teeny candybar phones?
The only phone between the low-end and the smartphones is the LG Xenon.
Why not handsets like the Samsung Solstice SGH-A887? Or other mid non-qwerty handsets. ....and non-LG while I'm at it.
I've been waiting a very long time to upgrade my ancient phone and all I see is the dubious LG Xenon. Makes me wonder if anyone is awake at the wheel.
Their price plans are improving, but their 20th century mindset (and handsets) is not.
Can't cut in Pappa Rogers' marketshare, now.
They know what they're doing. Making only those who really need a simple phone go on Fido, while making sure that anyone who really wants anything worthwhile goes with Rogers and their higher ARPU.

ActuallyThe Blackberry Bold 9700 form rogers telus and bell will work on wind
if you have a look at specs
it supports the AWS Band
and Wind is selling sim cards seperatly so i would assume they do support unlock phones unless they are having fun. Please buy a sim card from us
but sorry to use that sim card you must buy a phone
and no the sim card isnt for replacement it says clearly for activation have a look on windmobile.ca

There are 2 versions of the 9700. T-Mobile's one, and AT&Ts one.

Or goes with Bell, or Telus, or Wind, or Dave (when they launch). Why would I ever go to Rogers???? I don't think they know what they are doing in the larger picture as Fido and Rogers are not the only 2 choices in town.
Best Buy doesn't neuter its Future Shop division to force customers to shop at BB. Instead they try to get your money by providing a full range of choices from every location. Otherwise you could just leave and find another retailer, and it just might not be one of theirs.
