okay, im not that big of an expert on cell phones. but here is what i wish to do. im here in tokyo for the summer, id like to bring back a phone to the states. i have a sprint account there and im wondering if its possible to purchase a phone in japan and use it back in the states? if so, what kind of phone can i purchase? would i have to change anything?
Your provider. Sprint doesn't support any Japanese phones. It'll have to be either AT&T or T-Mobile. If you can't do that don't even think any further about getting a Japanese phone. Otherwise head to Keitai Shonen in Shibuya to have a look at no-contract phones that you can take home. It's here. The big black rectangle on the bottom of the map is JR Shibuya station so you have an idea where to start.
