Does Straight Talk offer 3G coverage?

Their coverage map on their homepage doesn't show anything besides the general view of what states they offer coverage in..

So, I'm hoping someone here knows if Straight Talk offers 3G coverage for the Samsung Finesse phone?

And is there a map somewhere where I can see if 3G is offered for my area for Straight Talk?

If by 3G you mean EVDO, then yes, it's available almost everywhere...goto Verizon's website and pull up their coverage map for your area. You can then identify EVDO coverage.

I thought about doing that..but isn't Verizons coverage differ from Straight Talks?

So ST does offer 3G then?

EV-DO is on the Finesse, but it's severely limited in any ability to use the high speed connection. 1X is perfectly sufficient for ST.

I know its limited.. thanks for the warning though.

1X isn't 3G or..EV-DO. I have Cricket right now with the TXTM8 and I get 1X pretty much everywhere I've been. I think Cricket does EV-DO to, but I don't think my TXTM8 is capable of it.

1X is technically 3G. TXTM8 doesn't have EV-DO, the higher end phones they have do.

Kinda funny how Apple started all this 3G craze...many of us have been using 3G on Verizon dumbphones for years.

I just bought a $45 Samsung R355C + 1 month to test it out... and it's 1X... This is like MetroPCS in data speed but with better talk coverage, worth the $5 extra IMHO...!

e71, that's AT&T side of ST, correct? Go to dslreports.com/mspeed on the phone and select 100k, if it says too fast select larger file, try clicking on that and select 400k or 1mb and let us know what speed you get. I am looking for a Verizon one with EvDO.

    Thanks.
