The official word is 'early 2010'...could be any time now. There was a rumour that it was going to be the 26th (next Tuesday) but that was quashed by Telus.

There was a thread about this about 2 weeks back. No news since then, really. Here's hoping, cuz that is going to be a big phone for Telus, I think.

I just hope it's coming soon. Maybe they will just announce the release date on the 26th. Who knows. They better launch it soon while people want it or else they will just go some place else.

telus never really gives out release dates... they just add the phone on the telus site and thats about it lol! They never really hype up a new phone they only really did that with the first storm!

Bell lost me as a customer because of that. I was waiting patiently for the Pre but they never announced anything. Rogers had the 6gig plan back so I jumped ship and got the Dream.

I really don't understand why companies don't at least give you some sort of indication. In this case they wont gain me as a customer but I will buy the Milestone outright when it eventually goes on sale.

I lost my iphone 3gs and I want to unlock this and place it on my Rogers account but it needs to come out first! I can only use this pink curve for so long lol! The rumors were debunked but on the Motorola Canada Facebook page they stated on Jan 13. 2010 that its coming really soon, so heres hoping.

They don't announce phones early because they don't want people waiting for new phones instead of buying the stuff they have now. That's my guess anyways...

Well that worked out great for Bell. My bill was only $70 a month so not the end of the world, but you'd think they'd understand that.

That's exactly what it is. When you tell someone the definite date of something then they're going to wait until that date. Now, you've shot yourself in the foot for the month between the announcement and the actual launch. Most people aren't as saavy as hofo users and don't have a clue when new phones are launching etc. so they will still go buy an old phone the day before a hot new one comes out just because they don't know any better.
Another insightful and thought provoking post...

Of course, nothing really ever lives up to its hype. I've been on YouTube, droidforums, and androidforums for months reading about it and now know just about everything about this device one could possibly have without using it. The 2.0.1 update fixes most problems and the 2.0 for the milestone has now been rooted (even an ugly hack to root 2.0.1). Its a great multi tasking phone with a full keyboard, even though some reviews dont like it most agree just takes some getting use to. The N1 is great but we wont be getting it any time soon since the 3g bands arent for us. The snapdragon CPU is faster but not my a long shot. The 2.1 update holds the improvements that the reviewers are seeing that will be unlocked in this phone as soon as we get it.

The only thing really stopping me on this phone is no hard key for starting an ending calls. Other than that they thought of pretty much everything. Once I actually hold a working model I will be able to decide, its either a Bold or this.
