Size is actually a big factor. The Milestone is pretty heavy in comparison, and if you don't have case, the thing is fragile to hold. Finding a decent case for the Milestone is also very difficult, especially since all the hard cases get in the way of the top row of the keyboard when you try to type.Originally Posted by mihaelb

For all those looking to abandon the milestone ship I would say stop and think for a few minutes...
I owned a N1 for a few months, on Wind, a while I loved it, to be honest the Milestone is almost as good, and better in some areas...
N1 pros over Milestone - officially running 2.1, OLED screen brighter with better viewing angles, fully unlocked, including bootloader (optional and does void your warranty) so you add custom ROMs with ease, noise cancelling mic, lighter, trackball, arguably faster cpu
, no hw keyboard if you don't like, need.
Milestone pros over N1 - cheaper for those willing to sign a contact with Telus, over the counter warranty and support for Telus users, arguably better looking, hardware kb (even if it sucks it still beats an on screen in landscape mode), more accurate touchscreen (tests showed that the N1's screen was not as good as the droid or iphone and I can back that up from my time with the N1), better battery life due to slower clocked cpu, heavier feel with comparable build quality, 16gb sdhc included (N1 has 4gb in the box), louder speaker and ringer
I think for those of us who like to tinker and upgrade the N1 is better, at least until the Stone is fully rooted, but for more 'casual' users it's a harder choice - stick with the Milestone if you want support and service in Canada
This isn't all that true. You can still agree to a contract with telus and get credit discounts and retention deals.Originally Posted by drsquid
A $15 credit per month for agreeing to a 3 year contract = $540.

are your camera and volume rocker buttons really lose?
Yes, but it doesn't seem to impact performance at all. And it's the only loose component of the phone.Originally Posted by maxpower929

Other up and coming phones might beat it in terms of performance, and maybe sexier screens, and newer OSs (at least for now), but, after coming from a HTC Touch, to me, a phone's reliability and build quality is essential.
Can you tell I had lots of mechanical problems with my HTC Touch![]()
as i had mentioned monday night, i hard reset my phone and only installed about 10 apps that i actually use and my battery life today was significantly better. i used the phone quite a bit over bluetooth and was really surprised at the improvement.Originally Posted by maxpower929

How do you unlock the phone? Insert another provider's SIM and insert the code?
I ordered a code a few hours ago. I don't need it unlocked right now but I figured I would in case I decide to buy a Mexican SIM when I go on a trip next month or something.

How I hate taking out the SIM from that phone.
EDIT: Unlocked.

Just do it. That's what we're all doing anyways. You wouldn't be alone.Originally Posted by PhreakMix
