Page Plus 3g?

Haven't really noticed any definate answers about this or mentions on Page Plus' website. Just wondering if Page Plus has 3g service.

Yes they do. They dont advertise it as 3G, just internet. It is also called EVDO.

if you can disable 3g but keep the regular 1x internet active then yes.

i believe most phones just have more of an "data connection on" or "data connection off" type setting though so in most cases, likely not.

Data is the same price whether you use 3G or 1x. So there's really no need to cut your phone down from 3G to 1x. If you want to use data at all, go ahead and run 3G.

I see. And if you run out of data and have no available balance, is the overage posted as a pending balance and paid by the next refill, or simply blocked?

You will accumulate overage for sure. Not sure if it will let you access the data if you have 0 balance and have used up your monthly allowance. Maybe someone else can chime in on what happens- if just the 'full' service (text, data or voice) is blocked and the other services will work

I just bought a Sprint Hero with bad esn. Had it flashed to PP. Everything works well except I can only connect to internet with 1x not EVDO.

Also, if a pageplus dealer can help.. I have firmware version 1.5 but software version 1.29. Can I update to 1.56 software without affecting my Pageplus flash?

If you go over your alloted PP data, you DATA ONLY will not work unless you reload additional minutes or wait until the next month.

Unless someone has some 3G settings the WAP data only works at x1.

It’s not my area either as the Verizon store I went their 3G didn’t drop. I tried it there!

PP has 3G w/ the proper phone. it's a CDMA network that uses a combination of 1xRTT, EVDO rev.0, or EVDO rev.A
try updating your phone's programming and PRL (*228)
if that doesn't work, phone may need flashing or is perhaps not fully compatible.
