    Nokia 8910i working in the USA

    so has anyone successfully modified a Nokia 8910i to work in the USA on either 850mhz or 1900mhz?!??! I would do anything to get this phone working here and i would pay to have the phone modified if anyone knows how to do it?!?! thanks

    You should probably fall in love with another phone. Changing the radio on a handset would be prohibitively expensive... even if you could do it. Convince the people in Espoo that it's really a viable handset for North America. Having any hope of modifying 900/1800 only handset to work on 850 or 1900 is just impractical.

    To be more specific for the OP, the actual design and placement of the components is almost completely different from any other Nokia model ever made. It's a lot more involved than switching out the mainboard. Same problem with the 8110(another fan favorite).

    I am impressed. It really states a lot of love for the phone if you still want to have it while being able to get so much better stuff now
