Have $150 upgrade credit what should i do?

Hey guys i had a weird situation where i got a Sero line thru a TOL and was goign to use my old phone.Somewhere along the way sprint gave me a new 2 year contract i called in talked to account services and they added the 150 upgrade credit to my account now im wondering what should i get my phone of choice is a TP2 but that s around 350 so im looking around and wondering if ican get the best phone i can for the cheapest price , thinking HTC hero from best buy for 99 sell that on ebay average price for it is around 320 net profit 220 and buy a slightly used touch pro 2 for around 300 ie out of pocket $80

and yes im cheap and have time but dont have money so looking to save money anyway i can

if anyone has a better idea im all ears thanks

I'm thinking you are going to run into problems getting the Hero activated on your account. If you can get it to work, more power to you. But don't be surprised if it doesn't and you end up losing money.

Exactly... be careful, because it will allow you to buy the Hero, but will give you the warning about the plan change. Once you get the phone, you will not be able to activate it unless you change your plan. If you try to sell it without activating it, the ESN will be locked and your buyer will be out of luck.

So try to stick to a non-Instinct, non-Pre, and non-Android phone.

I'm not sure, I got $150 for the Instinct, and since I paid $29 I was cool with that. I don't mind being under contract because I don't plan on giving up SERO until they make me!

I bought an HTC touch against many people's advice. The Treo just looked too much like my Centro, I wanted something new and different. We'll see how it works.

crap i was under the impression i could sell it without activating it on my account, as i know we cant activate the hero or palm pre with sero. I was thinking of just selling it New in Box.OK then any other ideas guys what phone would u recommend to get ( which would get me the highest resale price)

I think the HTC touch(vogue) is an awesome phone. All you need to do is flash it with one of the great roms out there and you got an awesome phone. Tether, touch screen, pic mail, everything u really need in a phone.

My contract will be up in July and hope to see the 150 credit. I read about what not to use. What will be the best non-touch phone with all the features. What is the most commonly used phone by high-schoolers?

And can I activate a blackberry tour purchased from CL or ebay?

Would u mind telling me how u got the instinct for 29? and how im also on SERO and am looking to sell the phone i get for the upgrade and buy myself a tpuch pro2 used so any phone that gives me the best net outcome would be good for me ( i see that the instinct hd goes for around 250 average on ebay so if i have to pay the 49.99 in best buy and sell it thats a +200 for me )

I got the Instinict on Sprint's website, I see it is now $49.99. I guess I got lucky.

I agree the Touch is a good choice. Look into the Android ports for it... AFAIK the Touch ports are still the best ports out there now... and you don't have to burn them in, you can "dual boot" either WM or Android.
