4G Android: HTC Supersonic

Codename is "Supersonic" -- a name we've heard at least once before.
Feels a lot like you'd expect an Android-powered HD2 to feel thanks to a 4.3-inch non-AMOLED display and a svelte shell. (For reference, the HD2 is 11mm thick, but we don't have exact dimensions here.)
It's got a kickstand on the back. This wouldn't be a first for HTC; the Imagio on Verizon has one, for example.
Runs Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI.
Our tipster saw it in white; production devices could be available in different colors, of course, but white seems like it'd be an intriguing choice for a phone of the HD2's size and shape.
The phone's software stack is buggy enough right now to suggest that we're not looking at a release any time soon, but we don't have details on the projected launch window.
It's fast -- Snapdragon fast, it seems, though our tipster can't confirm the processor under the hood.

Right. That is just a modem. There is no screen (a real one, so to speak), no voice transmission, so SMS, no processor to render webpages. Do you seem where I am going with this?
I really, REALLY hope that it works out though!

I think 1800 mAh is a little too much to hope for in a stock battery. Id expect 1500'ish in a larger HTC device. But since the 'Supersonic' wouldnt need to serve as a wifi hotspot simultaniously as the Overdrive does even 1500 mAh could result in 3-4 hours WIMAX browsing.
That is a little weak compared to current Android phones like the Nexus which are rated for 5+ hours browsing on 3g and 6.5 on wifi. But it is to be expected with a first generation device.
If Sprint can deliver a headline grabbing device that will certainly help them. But they need to follow through and fix their other problems as well, or that headline will be short lived and ultimately do nothing for them. (IE: Palm Pre)

that is also GSM....CDMA is known to be more of a power hog than GSM
Radiation is good
Do you really think that most would mind 3 hrs talk time while having the bragging rights of a 4g phone with atleast a 1ghz processor? And whos to say how much storage space (hopefully atleast 16gb).
We can basically assume that you will have to drop any legacy plan to get 4g and I for one would drop it for those speeds.

I have 2 hopes here:
1) They get this thing out the door sooner rather than later. Although I'm willing to bet that the comment about how "This thing is buggy" and Clear's "No 4G phones till late this year" might be related.
2) That Sprint doesn't pull a boneheaded pricing move like they did with the Touch Pro 2. (Although I'm almost positive the reason the TP2 was so much was because they knew the SERO crowd would be all over it)
