Ear speaker not working on razr v3

After replacing the lcd on my razr v3, now the ear speaker does not work (not the speakerphone). I have bought and installed a new OEM flex cable with speaker, to no avail. I checked the volume and it is fine. This speaker was working fine when this lcd was in another phone. The speakerphone works fine. What simple detail am I overlooking now ?

    Thanks.

The RAZR V3c, V3m, and V3a, all have the earpiece connected to the LCD module. Is it the same for the V3?

Yes, the flex cable plugs in to a port on the side of lcd between the two screens basically. I have used a flashlight to insure proper connection as well, since it is a very small, obscured port.

BTW, I am sure this is irrelevant, but I never had to replace the charging port (another post) as I discovered the charger was bad not the port.

Are you indicating the earpiece is part of the LCD module?

The ear piece is attached to a flex cable. The flex cable plugs into a port on the lcd screen between the two screens.

A photo of the flex cable from e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/FLEX-CABLE-SPEAK...item3ca8e96a28

Unfortunately, I'm not able to assist any further. I've never actually taken the V3 apart, and unfortunately, with my experience as a technician, the replacement won't be easy.

Thanks for all your time and posts anyway. It is great that you help when you can, and try so hard!
