adhesive under keyboard not sticking moto droid

    Moto droid

I have had the droid since the release, and all is well except that the keyboard doesnt lay down like when it was new, and seems to get worse with time,
The adhesive seems to be gone from letters a to k on the top 3 rows and from the alt key to the @ key

Just wonder if there is any fix
I searched the forum but didn't find any solutions (wrong keywords possibly)
Thanks in advance for any "useful" advice or solution

what adhesive are you talking about? The plastic sheeting under they keyboard? If so, that is OK to be removed per motorola. If you are having probs, take it back, you have a 1 year warranty

i had this same problem its a failure by design, each key seems to be individually adhered. i was able to bring it back and swap out for a new one . do you one of the hard snap on case attached? if so ull see these lil tabs around the front face of the case they help latch into place when snaping on duh lol but the tabs r too thick and actually hit keys, i noticed this when id open the kb a see the search bar with randoms letters there. id suggest staying away from the front face plates bc that definitely caused that problem on my firts droid.

Wink Easy Fix for lifting keypad ond Droid/Droid2 Phones

    All,
I found a pretty easy fix for people with a lifting keypad on their droid phone, especially if you're out of warranty like me. I just fixed mine 2 days ago, and its still great, so I figured I'd share:

Rubber Cement and a small paintbrush

    That's right, rubber cement!!
Just gently lift the keypad along the bottom edge(under the spacebar), and gently peel the bottom up, so you can slide a ballpoint pen or pencil under the bottom of the keypad. I used a pocketknife to do this. DO NOT completely remove the keypad!!
Using rubber cement, and a small paintbrush (like from a kid's paint kit) carefully spread rubber cement around on the pink underpad, as well as the underside of the keybad. Keep the pen wedged under the keypad to hald it off the pink bottom for 15 minutes, then remove the pen, and carefully press the keypad baqck down into place. It will stick!! and it will stay stuck, too!!

If you got some rubber cement on the outside of the phone, just rub off the excess from the surfaces using a cloth, or the edge of your Tshirt.
