Hi, I figured instead of continuing to fill up multiple threads about the Sprint branded Blackberry on Boost Mobile I'd do it here and hopefully we can get everything clear all in this one thread. Here we can discuss what applications work, what services work, service books, try to help everyone the best we can.
1st of all, if you have a Sprint branded Blackberry Pearl, Curve, Tour, etc, yes you can use it on Boost CDMA (as of right now)... If you don't already have a Boost CDMA account, you need to activate a new one, if you do already have a Boost CDMA account, you can just call up Boost Customer Care and ask them to change the ESN on your account, to the Sprint ESN, as long as the ESN is clean that is. If you get a rep that won't do it, try again later.
2nd... If your Blackberry PIN is not active with Sprint, then you will not be able to use the web browser, or send MMS. You can fix this by using the Anworm Browser service book, and the deathtrip MMS service book, which I have bundled for your pleasure.... You can get the service book bundle from here and you can visit the thread here on HoFo here
3rd.. By default, you CAN NOT, and WILL NOT be able to have BIS/BES services with your Sprint Blackberry on Boost Mobile. Yes there is a way, no I'm not going to get into it at the moment.
Anyone who has a working Sprint Blackberry, on Boost CDMA please chime in and list applications that work for you, and if you have true MMS reception, or if you receive a LINK/URL within your incoming MMS.
1: Sprint Navigation (works on Boost Mobile, select $2.99/day Premium upgrade, as of right now no charge)
2: Loopt (kind of like Sprint Locator, Free, Also kind of slow)
3: iHeartRadio
3: Palringo
4: Sprint Locator (works on Boost)
5: BBWeather
6: BBMaps
7: LogicMail (used to access POP3 mail accounts)
8: BeeTag (used to get info on special UPC)
9: Google Maps
10: Google Voice
11: GMail
12: SharkModem (junky proxy type tether app/SLOW)
13: BBTether/Tether (Fast Proxy Tether Application [USB/Bluetooth], $45)
14: jmIRC (Java IRC Program, works but disconnects me too often)
15: MySpace (Blackberry MySpace app, works without BIS)
16: pdaNET (another junky proxy type tether app, also slow)
17: Opera (Web Browser, slow, full page view)
This is all I've tried so far, that I can think of. There are tons more.
i used the crackberry 8330 service books with anworm browser for a bit. didnt work. you can search the crackberry forums about 8330 and sprint mms and see where sprint did some update that gave 8330 full mms, but i'm not quite sure what all it involves.
get an 8330 and dump your 8330m and then you can help me fix it
oh and by the way, all applications work once you're on bis. you dont even have to worry, you're set up just like any customer on att/vzw/sprint with full bb support.
Anyone tried flashing the leaked 5.0 OS for 8330 BoostBerry to a sprint 8330?
I know its a shot in the dark but, just wanted to know if that would work.
SKYDECK. Caller id and contacts backup. SLACKER RADIO. Streaming radio. [the best out there for me] POCKET EXPRESS. news, sports, weather, travel, movie show times, yellow and white

app. GOOGLE SYNC. Adress book backup. BOLT. Internet Bowser.
[I·ll post the OTA Downloads later]
*PANDORA and FACEBOOK app. dont work for me; I dont know if it has to be with
BES or BIS.
Isriam, I know that is the case for you and I. Also, if you're talking about the anworm_browser_sprintpcs_mms package floating around, that's the original one that has the "http://mms.sprintpcs.com" in the URL for the MMS Transport MMSC. That's the one I used to apply my "hack" to. It won't work. But I can tell you that my MMS Transport service book is still working even with BIS. Maybe I need to cut it out again and have you try something different.
tramane, Yes, you can use the Boost 5.0 Firmware on your Sprint 8330. As long as it is just the 8330, and not the 8330m. You also will need to delete the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Application Loader\Vendor.xml file BEFORE you try to install the 5.0 Firmware.
silosnauj, and Devcomm, to be sure, you're both using my MMS Transport service book?
