Accessing sd card on Hero no workie

I have my Hero connected to my laptop with a usb, but it doesn't let me access the SD card like I could with my Blackberry. It recognizes the phone for charging, and still has the lower right icon to "safely remove hardware". With my blackberry hooked up, initially a the pop up box would appear for me to access the files, isn't doing it for the Hero. Also, when I go in to the My Computer options, it isn't recognized on the drives.... Do I need to change settings on the phone??

When you hook it up, open the notifications thing and it should have "USB Connected Select to copy files to/from your computer." Press that then press mount and it should make it accessible like a normal flash drive.
