How to use 2 different internet connections on 1 pc

Ok, this may not be possible, but, first lemme tell you what im working with.

At work, we can connect to our router via cat5, or by wireless. Next, I have a Treo Pro cell phone, that i have pdanet installed on so that I can connect to the internet using my phone as a modem.

Sooooo, I want to be able to use my work connection for internet and email, and all that good stuff, but I want to use my pdanet connection for downloading torrents. I have utorrent.

Is there any way, that i can use both of these internet connections at the same time, so that when im downloading torrents, it only uses the pdanet connection, so that i am not taking up all of the bandwidth on my work network?

Im thinking using a proxy, but Ive never use one much and dont know a whole lot about them, so i thought i would ask before i get started.

    Thanks for any help!

You might want to ask on the computer forum. I've never done this, just one or the other. It might be possible by setting up a manual routing table. I assume this is Windows? What version?

if you tried to run phone as modem while running torrents, the cell provider will probably shut off your service quickly. They all also cap the traffic at 5gb. pdanet can hide tethering, but it cant hide the traffic your connecting to.

Run your torrents at home. preferably on someone elses unsecured wireless.

I've connected to 2 connections at once before by using a CAT5 for one, and wireless card for the other. Not sure if it helps though. O.o

You should be careful about connecting your PC/laptop directly to your work network and to an external network at the same time.

In many/most companies, it is against policy and a security breach and can lead to disciplinary actions (or dismissal) since it allows a possible threat from an external source directly into the company's network without going through the company's firewall.

Rogers (pay as you go - Canadian prepaid): "Fido" LG Nexus-4

Rogers (monthly BIS data plan): Blackberry Q10

Red Pocket Mobile (US prepaid): Sony-Ericsson c510 or Sony-Ericsson w300i

would a dual-wan router work in this scenario?

I see this question asked all the time, and I never see a concrete answer provided.
