When I first got my Droid (not long ago) it would notify throughout the day that a new email had arrived. Similar to the way an SMS text arrives, the phone beeped, an entry for the new email showed up along the top, etc.
For the past week or so this no longer occurs. If I go to my email and click refresh, all the new messages appear that were received since last time I manually refreshed. I can't seem to figure out why the phone is no longer checking for new messages throughout the day and notifying me of them. I haven't changed anything.
One of the email accounts is through aim.com, the other is through a private ISP. Like I said, they were working perfectly until they spontaneously stopped. Any suggestions?
Try rebooting the phone. I've found that whenever it stops letting me know, that if I reboot, it starts back up again. Dunno why, but it always seems to work for me.
rebooting notified me of the emails once the device reloaded but a few hours later I once again have new emails id never know about if I didn't manually refresh each account. anybody else have this issue?
I find I get emails for about a day after I restart my Droid, but then they stop coming in. When I reboot the phone, either right away or after getting off an airplane flight, I start getting emails again, but only for about a day. Refresh doesn't seem to do anything after a day either.
Voice quality on the phone also seems to degrade over time. I'm sure all this will be fixed in some future Android release, but in the meantime it's a pain
Do you have any emails stuck in your outbox? I had an email with an attachment trying to send and it stopped my gmail from syncing until I deleted the stuck message and rebooted.
