HELP, locked my ERIS and can't unlock it

I was running a 3rd party unlocking app called pattern lock. I unintentionally locked myself out by too many attempts. After this I pulled the battery and now my phone wants my gmail user/pw. When I enter this in, the phone always says it's incorrect even though it's not. a little help please.

Make sure there is not a space in your gmail address. A similar thing happened to me. I would start to type my gmail address and the auto complete looked fine so I would accept it. I finally realized there was a space after the dot.

Same thing happened to me, I had to have Verizon wipe everything and start over new. It sucked so badly, will never have all my numbers back.

But if you know your gmail account information, then you wouldn't be locked out of your phone in the first place.

There is a still open bug with Android (regardless of the phone) at least in 2.0 and previous releases that can cause this behavior.
Android bug/issue reports on for more details (it's not phone specific).
The only way around it if this happens is to factory reset the phone.
If you have all your contact, pictures etc. synced online and have 'backup my settings' activated on the phone everything should be back within a few minutes....
