Bought bad droid! what now???

I was sold a bogus Motorola Droid on Craigslist, I wanted to use it on PagePlus but they said it has a bad ESN or MEID or whatever. Is there any way around this?? Do I have any hope. If not, then what do I do with it???

No, there is no way around it. It's been blacklisted for being stolen or the previous account has been turned over to collections.

You can try contacting the seller, but chances are, you're out whatever you paid for it.

You can update the PRL to Cricket's 1040 and use it on Cricket with Talk & Text. Maybe you can figure out a way to update to change the phone to use Simple IP and Cricket's proxy to get web/mms

You can try selling the phone on www.gazelle.com . It's a site that buys used electronics and they resells it. I'm unsure if they will take a phone with a bad ESN but I have sold them my old Verizon phones before. You're not going to get as much as you paid for the phone but it's better than having the droid as a paper weight

i believe another option is to go to metro pcs. not sure if that's what you want but they will activate it. that's why all the shady craigslist ads who say they can flash to metropcs won't give you an ESN #.
