Okay so http://www.coveragemapper.com/windmap.php is now updating automatically, once a day. I can't seem to figure out why SD would be missing towers that are present in TAFL though.

It's weird. I know there are several towers in TAFL but not in SD that definitely do exist, and I know there are many in SD but not in TAFL that do exist. I also know there are plenty in both that don't exist.
IC needs to get their stuff together and make a more reliable database.

Are there any towers near Avenue and 401 area? Receptions is just terrible there! Some spots don't even have service at all! Using the Nexus S

Wind recently added a tower by Lawrence and Avenue road. It doesn't quite reach your area.

Just loving it.
What is the typical range for a tower? I mean service is great everywhere else I go, just I have family in that area i visit frequently there.
I find that WIND likes to call it 2KM (but that's generally just the best reception).
There are lots of different factors for example:
Blackberrys have great reception compared to Huaweis.
But even a Blackberry will have trouble getting reception between (thick) concrete walls.
Nevermind Bell.. LTE is fine.
Well I don't know if the phone really makes much of a difference. I had the Blackberry Bold 9900 for a day before returning it for the Nexus S. Both phones had no reception to one bar in a house in the Bathurst and Wilson area.
How much truth is there in how long it takes for a tower to be active from when they begin to appear in SD/TAFL?
I remember reading it can take 6 months but as we saw for Peterborough, towers began to show up early December and for the most part are already live.
Wind *badly* needs to add a tower next to Conestoga Mall in Waterloo. Walking through the mall in the halls is fine, but once you enter a store, the signal drops down to zero or cuts out completely.
Reception is also poor at the overpass between Highway 8 and 401 in Kitchener, near the old Sports World. That whole area in general has shoddy reception. They need a couple towers there to bridge the gap between Kitchener and Cambridge, which they should be working on since theyve got plans to bridge the gap between all of Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo and Guelph. Kitchener and Cambridge should be easily.
Its annoying at times, but at $40 per month for unlimited everything, its hard to complain.
I seem to recall my Rogers iPhone not having reception in the same places my WIND Nexus One didn't in Conestoga. But I agree, it would help to have better mall coverage everywhere.
I think one or two towers will get 8 all the way from Kitchener to Cambridge, and then they can focus more on the 401
Even 7 to Guelph is pretty good. There's a short stretch of poor coverage, but you can maintain a signal the entire way.
I can live with these highway gaps (I don't like them, but I can live with them). What I really want fixed is basement coverage. Or even the problem where I can have my phone in my back pocket when I'm sitting, and my body blocks the signal enough to put me out of service. And contrary to what you may believe, I am not the size of a cow
WIND may have 4 bars outdoors everywhere, but there's a huge difference between the 4 bars WIND gives you (often around -85dBm) and the 4 bars Rogers gives you (often around -50dBm).
