Upcoming Home Zone (Windsor, Peterborough, Kingston, and Woodstock) is now listed as planned expansion on Wind Mobile.
Still interesting as to why no towers were ever reported in Woodstock yet the network is live there.

Peterborough planned expansion even includes the highway.
Still no Victoria though.
Looks cool!
The Toronto Map was updated as well to show improved coverage on the 400, 404, Milton (YES!), and Clarington.
Nevermind Bell.. LTE is fine.
I've updated the advertised coverage on http://www.coveragemapper.com/map.php?mccmnc=302490 so you can see how it compares to what's actually there now.
I still think Kingston is out of place. It's not very big, and it's hundreds of kilometres from the next covered city.
And their plans to cover the highway from Toronto to Peterborough are great, but what about between other areas? Essentially, they need the whole 401 from the west end to Kingston now.

The opinions stated here are my own, not necessarily those of my employer.
Is there a reason why the Wind Tower map at Coverage Mapper says the towers haven't been updated in nearly two weeks?
I hope that covering all the 401 corridor communities is just a step along the way to 401 coverage. They have separate licenses for places like Kingston and Belleville, so they have to cover them soon anyway. If they plan on covering the 401 anyway, maybe they figure it would be better to cover all these towns and then fill in the gaps afterward?
It definitely seems curious though that they would cover the highway to Peterborough but not Kitchener. Maybe they just got a sweetheart deal on a couple of tower sites?
Sometimes I really wonder what's going on behind the scenes. How long has SD listed towers in Fort Erie, or other parts of Niagara, but still no official coverage, and in some cases not even planned expansion. Clearly they're not too concerned with only activating island communities, so what's the holdup?
Yay! More globs of yellow pee stains on a map that are suggesting more areas. Yet the Coming soon 2010 planned zones are still not fulfilled. Woohooo.
Oh and wait before you get all excited promoting this updated coverage, let's just remember these are suggestive home zone coverage perimeters. As noted a million times by others, this doesn't mean you're guaranteed to be within a home zone at any time and roaming charges are applicable whenever they magically appear on your invoices.
Uh, the areas he is referring to are red (as in covered, not coming soon) and we can see via SD that there are towers there.
The areas that used to say coming in 2010 haven't said that for years, and it's because of people *****ing like this that they now refuse to attach ETAs to areas. They missed their deadline, and obviously they are having serious trouble getting towers up in those areas. Like every other hole in their coverage, it sucks. Get over it.
Those of us who pay attention to this thread know that "official" coverage only means that now the towers will stay on. We almost always know from tower maps and crowd sourced mapping solutions like coverage mapper what the coverage will be like well before Wind makes it official, and what it's actually like despite what the official map says.
Uh I know, I'm adding in my sarcastic observations. Duh!
No kidding, shouldn't have over-sold and under delivered. Sucks but it's the punch-line they've created that I love to laugh at. Get over it your self, you're not WIND last I checked, stop apologizing for the corporation that could care less about your efforts. The areas that used to say coming in 2010 haven't said that for years, and it's because of people *****ing like this that they now refuse to attach ETAs to areas. Ask your self this, why do they even continue to show a "coming soon" when it's clearly going to be 3 years before they deliver. It'd make more sense to not even show it until they got it. It's just a clever confusion tactic to evoke false sense of insurance that when you sign up, that area you're concerned about may eventually be there. The fact that ETA's are no longer there make it worse, as customers who expect this are now left feeling baited and switched. It should be illegal to advertise this as long at all. That's like subscribing to the highest cable TV package, with the anticipation that HD channels are coming soon, but you only have one HD channel at current. Don't worry though! Coming soon! (fingers crossed, and breath held, is what I wish every WIND fanboy that believes these things would do).
As I said, noted a million times by others, and now 1,000,001* by you. Those of us who pay attention to this thread know that "official" coverage only means that now the towers will stay on. *numbers are not official. <- incase you want to take issue with this too.![]()
Then your sarcastic observations didn't make sense, because the areas he was referring to resulted in less yellow, not more.
Do you seriously think they knew it would take three+ years when they first added it to the map? That's more than a little paranoid. It's far more likely they thought it would be done a long, long time ago, and they screwed up or something went horribly wrong. At this point the benefit of "confusing" customers is outweighed by the undermining of consumer confidence. They can't get the towers up for whatever reason, and they can't remove the coming soon area because it would look even worse.
But my point is, you had no reason to bring this up in the first place other than to troll. We all know here how long it has been, and it would be great if they filled it in. But until they do, or we find out why they haven't, there's nothing to talk about.
It lead to my point in the same response about not holding WIND to it. Relax.
I don't seriously think that. In fact, they've managed to erase their "coming soon" statements everywhere, even updated the map with new red and yellow "planned expansion" areas. This won't be paranoia what comes next, it's common sense. If you're going to change the map adding stuff, I can only assume they can take away too. Again, it's been 3 years, and nothing reported yet for towers being approved in those GTA key areas. It's a laughing point and a punch-line that WIND has created. I can only enjoy it, I'm not huffing and puffing about it. If you can't laugh at the silliness that it has become then I can't help you.Do you seriously think they knew it would take three+ years when they first added it to the map? WOO HOO TO THE WINDSOR PEE STAIN! I CAN'T WAIT!
That's not true. There haven't been many, but there are a few towers showing up in those areas, and some of them have since received official coverage. Obviously there needs to be more, and the sooner the better, but it doesn't look like they've given up.
If you live in Windsor or visit there regularly and want to use Wind then you would be pleased.
