How accurate is Wind normally with its tower mapping versus its reporting to Industry Canada?
I found what appears to be an as-yet-unfinished cell tower, waiting for antennas to be mounted, a week or so ago and was hoping that it was a Mobi tower (as basically every other telco has a tower listed in the general vicinity). However, it seems to be positioned in the exact spot of Wind tower ("ACA0044-Calgary AB 930 64th Ave NE") which has been listed on Loxcel already in its March 2011 report. A year seems like a very long time to have a tower announced but not yet in operation.
Line 1 WIND:
$40 Holiday Miracle Plan
Unlimited CA/US Call, MMS, Data, Int. Text
Line 2 WIND:
$40 Holiday Miracle Plan
Unlimited CA/US Call, MMS, Data, Int. Text
= $75 + HST
I've noticed that the Feed on WIND's website likes to anticipate when towers come on.
Usually a few days before they're working properly.
So remember, (And I can't even say how many times canadiancow has said this) the tower map is not an accurate representation on when a tower will turn on. It could be today, tomorrow, 5 weeks, 5 months, or even 5 months ago. The tower map simply acknowledges that someone filed that tower under globalive (and what ever other descriptors needed).
Nevermind Bell.. LTE is fine.
The last cell site they activated in Vancouver came online a few days before they announced it.

As well just thought I would mention that I've updated the backend of my site. Previously I was having issues where 'New towers' were being reported that were previously reported and I was having to manually clean this up. This should now be solved, so if you notice any anomalies please let me know.

Today looks like Wind is expanding in the north London area.

First one doesn't look to be a traditional WIND tower as they like to build the "pole" towers as seen in the second photo.
I've noticed that they prefer to build straight towers (instead of angled to a point, like in that pic) to save more space and money.
Although it is still possible that they would build that, I don't see a reason for building far out there yet.
Also gives you insight into how late or early tower reporting can be.
Interesting info.
Second one definitely looks like Wind.
Also frequently referred to as "Positive Rate".
