Huge increase in towers according to TAFL from bprintz map.

However, looks like some of the new towers are placed in the wrong locations. There are several in the USA, northwest of Windsor, I'm sure by mistake.

    Oh TAFL...

I need to figure out what's going on with mine. I wish I could just download the whole damn database rather than running 1000 stupid queries every day to download 100 square km at a time.

canadiancow, did you see the other question I had.

"canadiancow, anyway to tell when the data for Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Regina were jotted down?

I don't remember seeing any before and find it interesting since those are supposed to be 3 of the several cities Wind is supposed to launch this year (kinda doubting it though). "

Oh. That just means there's no service there... You'd get the same result in Yellowknife or China.

Also: I've updated the advertised coverage on Coverage Mapper, so you can compare where we actually have a signal to where WIND says there will be one.

It's nice to see the 401 finally being planned out between KW and Milton, although I don't have much use for that route anymore

Unless the network operator only rolled out HSUPA in that area... xD.

Looks like the tower on my building's work is upgraded! Now only if these speeds would last...

I updated the towers on http://www.coveragemapper.com/windmap.php. There's definitely a problem with some of the data. Oh well...

    Hi all,

A few updates to the Loxcel map:

    - Fresh August data, with our proprietary cell site location corrections applied throughout
    - Improved "new site" filter.
    - Historical data: compare this month's sites against those from Feb 2012 -- to see which carrier is really improving their network.

    More info available at

    http://www.loxcel.com/canada-cell-tower-news.html

    And the map is at

We also have a "full TAFL map" which shows the entire Industry Canada TAFL database. This map is at

Canadiancow, do you remember a while back (maybe a year ago) when there were Wind towers missing? At least for the western part of Toronto, it appears to be those exact same towers have went missing from the map again. Perhaps, could it be the same issue as last time?

Sigh. IC needs to just provide a dump of their entire database. My script keeps getting timeouts trying to download everything from them.
