Question so is Flash going to happen or...

Should we just plan on waiting out the rest of our contract and get whatever Android phone we like out in November that will hopefully have it by then? We love or G1's but starting to get irritated at how long it is taking for flash...I understand it is not easy and takes time but come on.

Flash is going to be a battery hog if it ever makes it to the g1. A review of it on nexus yesterday showed that it ate through the battery.

At this point I think mt3g will get flash first. There's room in the rom for it whereas there isn't room to do 2.0/2.1 on the g1. I think adobe is writing flash for 2.0+ devices which means no g1 support unless tmo and htc find a way to get 2.0 to the g1.

Your other option is to root and go to whatever is required for flash. Adobe is just trying to make a quality product and its taking time to make sure there isn't a disaster like when the nexus was released.

I understand that and thanks for the informative reply. I have pretty much figured it won't happen for the g1 since evrything seems to be moving toward 2.0 on. The g1 simply needed to have more on board memory and help with battery life. Hopefully there will be an Android phone on tmo I will like come November or so when we can renew. So far only the Cliq strikes my fancy, mytouch doesn't. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for what's up next in the way of devices.

Hmm, you know it would be really awesome if they did put flash on the G1, but I doubt it will ever happen, especially considering how poor the battery life on the G1 already is. Plus, I think they're much too lazy to put that much effort into a phone that seems outdated compared to the newer models of cell phones.

Flash was already demoed on the g1, adobe has just not released. I definitly think this will be an android 2.1 feature so hopefully htc and google can find a way to update the g1 (which is rumored for q2)
