    Motorola Milestone Must Have Apps

    Hey Guys,

I noticed that people were talking about apps they use and must have on their droid in the other thread. I made this thread to have a dedicated place for it. So go at it. Share what you think is a must have on your milestone.

    My list:

    Facebook
    Spelldial
    Nubdial
    Google Maps Navigation Edition
    Sipagent
    Homerun 3d
    shootu
    msn droid
    backgrounds
    linda file manager
    speedtest
    weatherbug
Bell better start ensuring customer satisfaction or they'll go to #4 for new activations/customers.
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

i tried nubdial today for the first time as i hate not having a smart-dialer on my phones and i had to delete it. i found that i could not send emails and even though i showed 4 -5 bars of signal strength and an active data connection my emails would not send and weatherbug would not update. i tried power cycling the phone a few times with the same results. i uninstalled Nubdial and all went back to normal. its too bad because it seemed to be a decent app......except for the fact that it ****ed up my phone, lol. i will look for some apps later to see if i can find one to replace it. is that what spelldial does?

here are a few that i have installed so far

copilot--i had bought it when i had a magic and downloaded it again from their site and used my activation code. works great for north america

a online radio--has a directory of streaming radio stations but i use it to listen to am640 in toronto and 103.9fm in arizona. works great on this phone

sms backup--used to use it on my magic. installed but not tested yet

    --movies

    qik

moto phone portal--comes with the phone and is actually pretty decent app if you are at a desk a lot

From my post in the other thread:

AppRemove - Easier way to remove apps
    aTrackDog - App updater
    Astro - File Manager
    Backgrounds - home background downloader
    Mixzing - Music player
    battery left
    bluerss
    city caller id
    frozen bubble
    google goggles
    google sky map
handcent sms - adds nice quick replies and stuff
k-9 mail - better imap client
    missed call - repeating alarms
mototorch led - home screen camera light toggle
net counter - bandwidth usage tracker
nubdial - replacement dialer, the stock one SUCKS for picking names
taskpanel - decent task switcher / killer i think
    wifi analyzer
    wikidroid - wikipedia interface

Edit: tried out spelldial, nicer than nubdial. Faster to come up and a little better interface.

Has anyone found a battery level app that shows the percentage left in single units instead of every 10%? I have tried 4 different ones and they all only show 10% increments

I'm using 'battery left' and it seems ok, although I'm unsure about its accuracy... It often reads less then what the built in battery level shows. It does say it needs time to calibrate so I'm just being patient.

seems motorola has set something to do this to all apps, apparently saves battery life. every single battery app refresh's every 10%

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on it after a few days. The one I used to use on my magic worked great but none of the ones I have tried seem very accurate

Does anyone know of an app that adds a t9 keyboard option for this phone? I used to love using the dial pad to hammer out quick messages one handed on my magic

yes there is but alot of things arent working in it, it would be nice if google helped canadians out as much as they do americans. they seem to get everything.
they are just announcing paid apps for canada*least we hope* its been almost a year since android has been in canada. so dont think google will do anything for maps mods for canada in the near future.
