Any idea whats going on out there? My VZW guy is away for a couple of days.
Hi there. I'm the guy on the other side of the counter. If you're a jerk to me, guess how hard I'm going to try to help you?

Yeah, but are they going to further spiff this phone to offset it for us indirects? Otherwise I am sending the last few piles of crap back (that I havent already) and dropping the lineup entirely.
All I know is I am sure TIRED of these rebates changing ALL the time!!! Good grief!!!
What i'm guessing is Palm dropped the rebates considering the lack of success with Verizon.....
Good things comes to those who wait.....but they only get whats left behind by those who hustle.
we still have the forms in infocenter that are valid till the 31st with them on it. i havent sold a single one since they came out.

I went to the Palm training on these new devices, and i must say i was impressed. I think my next phone will be a Pixi. Why arent they popular? Its very simple. People have a bad taste and experience with old Palm devices and they are not willing to try it out. Us indirects have no incentive to sell them when the Pre is a whopping $590. Yes there are spiffs but what if that customer cancels? We end up losing that $175 spiff and we gave away a $590 device for $250... thats too much of a risk. Plus, you cant demo these devices to the customer as they have to be activated first... so Im not gonna sell someone on the phone then have them try it out n bring it back if they dont like it... its not worth it. If they want us to sell it they gotta lower the price, get every store a working demo.
If Verizon is giving a $100 rebate plus a $100 Advanced Device Spiff plus a $175 Pre Spiff, Temporary $25 PDA spiff.. Thats $400 that we get just for selling the damn phone so why cant they just lower the cost of the device instead of confusing us and the customer? Then again... i stopped asking why a long time ago.... nothing makes sense.
I just recieved word from my contacts about my spiff on the pre and pixi going up $50 along with a fairly significant price drop of around $100. As far as I'm concerned if that is the case I will be pushing palms like none other because of the amount of money that will be made...
We've returned them all to our corp headquarters that's 35 store's who wont be selling these devices.
1) The cost to much to buy and not enough to sell, even if they Spiff them to death.
2) They are a new Palm software which nobody wants to learn.
3) Customer comes in looking to have 1 of the sales associates to demo the device off only to find out nobody in the store is carrying the device.
3) The form factor.... form factor ... form factor ... form factor. Only Palm would come out with a keyboard that did not sell on the Palm Centro and offer the same keyboard layout.
They have already cut the cost on the phones. Pre came down like $150, so losing the rebate is no biggie. I will be sending back the couple I have though, as I have had them too long for the price protection.
yes but the old ones as i said are still there. VZW has to honor the old rebates with the dates on them. they tried this before and lost and still had to honor them.Originally Posted by GetOverIt7

pre-submit their rebate for them online. it will validate the rebate and your client is guaranteed it as long as they send in the UPC.Originally Posted by GetOverIt7
Even without the rebate the new pricing and spiffs are awesome on these phones. We are only out $24.01 and $34.01 before the plan commission. Even on a share line thats around $130 profit. Not bad.
