NYC not Dual band? Please advise...

Okay so I am searching on ebay for flashed phone for metro. I came across a BB storm and its dual band so the posting says. The seller says that for this to work in your area the city must be a dual band area, i asked the seller about nyc they said nyc is not a dual band for metro. Is this true? If so, what flashed smartphones can work in nyc? MAybe users here can share what they are using in NYC at the moment? Thanks in advance.

    PS
This is the ebay posting that prompted this question...

Yeah, that is unfortunate that we can not use dual band PCS phones in NYC (or any other AWS only markets) but Metro's device lineup just got slightly better with the arrival of the Code not long ago and the Caliber more recently. In addition, we are expecting some additional devices ranging from a new BlackBerry to some new Samsung's and LG's as well as an Android device. Stay tuned, 2010 sounds like it will be an exciting year for Metro as 2009 was.

    They're wrong.

    It will not work.

They either don't know, or they just want the sale.

    Don't buy it.

That's what we've been hearing. It looks like it's coming to both MetroPCS and Cricket.

I'm looking forward to all of these changes coming.

NYC is a AWS market and requires a Tri-Band phone. If you want a smartphone get the Samsung Code.

You don't want to travel and get a Cricket phone then use it in NYC becuase you won't have all your features.

You mean the 1700 MHz ones? Or just get a tri-band phone from MetroPCS and not have to flash anything anywhere.

Yeah I would get a code, but Im just not all exicited just yet on metro phones. So flashing one over that i may like more seems more appealing to me. But I just may get a messenger 2 or something and wait it out.
