For some reason, the update link is no longer working. Could it be that they are prepping the Android 1.6 update? I will keep checking.

How does one do this firmware update?

i really would like this to exist but i cant find it on the website, i called in and was told by multiple employees that v10f update doesn't exist...
really made me mad 'cause i've been through a week and a half of stupid emails with automatic replies only to eventually be told to call in. now i've called in and been told said update doesn't exist...
i believe it does, and for what ever reason it was taken down. I'm sure the LG people have absolutly no clue what they are talking about. you guys weren't lying right?
hopefully the 1.6 update thing is right..
Strange that they took it down. A few of us have the update and the phone seems more stable and other improvements since. They did say Android 1.6 is coming this spring. Spring started last weekend so we can expect any day within the next 3 months.
hope it comes soon.
I updated my wife's GW620 to V10f early last week by using the LG updater software that you download from their site.
Basically, run the Windows LG updater with your phone plugged in and it detects the phone model and then tells you if you need to update to the software.
Does anyone know if the update still works? I did tried it today and I got nothing.
On the LGMobile Support Tool it says Model: GW620R Version: V10C
Everything looks good so far but when it gets to the ANALYSIS part, I have to close it because it says "Software update is not supported for this model"
Help?
What has changed with the Facebook app? Is it any different from the one currently on the Android Market?
I just updated my LG EVE over the weekend from V10C to V10F, it is still going to give you 1.5. The info found on Rogers website with their LG EVE "GW620R" Software update (PDF), indicated that this update was to fix a random phone freeze / hanging and a hard reset "key combination fix". PC OS support is for Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Vista. Sorry no MAC OS support currently (basically what was found on the LG website). The PDF file said you can download the software from www.rogers.com/techsupport
I stumbled on the info by accident as I was trying to follow another set of instructions to set my LG Eve to tether.

And now I have both the updated OS on my LG EVE and I'm able to tether on 3G without additional software or modifying my LG EVE...kewl!

...remember, being wireless is to be mobile.
Almost forgot, here is the link to LG's download site for the LG EVE. Enjoy.

Every time I press on the "Start Updating" button, It begins the "Updating USB driver" procedure. Has anyone else gotten this problem?
Yup, I had that problem too. I tried on another PC and it worked fine.Originally Posted by Huge_G_Rection
where did you find the update for the software i have been trying to do it using the pcsync program from the lg web site and have not had luck. I even had to factory reset my phone so that the pc sync program would connect my phone. i just fired off a message to lg mobile about this, but you guys are talking as if you already have the update, and if you do where did you get it and how for the love of "insert imaginary person". i'll give you and update as what lg replies with.
Kinda late to resurrect this thread. I gave up on LG and their lies. I bought an iPhone. I still have the Eve too. LG claims they won't ugrade beyond 1.6...that is totally unacceptable. The guys at openetna.com have been able to put 2.2 Froyo on the device. I am about to update myself.
Ya I gave up on LG too, sold my eve, and picked up myself a Galaxy S. The best phone out there right now, personaly I think it beats the iphone. It does everything the Iphone does, some even better and they don't try to tell you what you need to buy and can buy, not to mention it's open source.
