Do you have the code for corporate talkspot so I can give it to my rep to add?

any non-branded 9700s out there? How are people finding the UMA? Mine doesnt seem to want to connect at times (i.e. I only see the WiFi and not UMA)

For me, I will sometimes see the white WiFi symbol with 3G and other times (most of the time), I will see the UMA with the white WiFi symbol. This happens in the exact same location when connected to the same router. I'm not sure why this happens.

For me, it is entirely automatic. After I upgraded the OS, it just went to UMA instead of 3G. That is how I noticed it.

Well that could be debated, I'm gonna call for clarification on this:

Another Rogers exclusive: all BlackBerry student plans on devices that support WiFi or UMA come with unlimited WiFi calling. Calls made from a WiFi access point do not count towards your monthly bucket of minutes – perfect for students on WiFi enabled campuses.

Has anyone had any luck getting UMA on the Bold 9700 to work with Fido?

I have an unbranded (RIM) 9700 and have tried the following with no success:

    1) Install 5.0.0.862 firmware update. I expected this to give me the "Wifi Preferred" option but it did not appear after the update.
    2) Obtained a ca.rogers.com cert and set mobile network engineering screens/utilities/session manager>UMA options as follows:
    Display name: Factory Provisioning
    Operator name:
UMA protocol version UMA v. 1.0.4
    Provisioning UNC address: hbsc.uma.rogers.com
    Provisioning UNC port: 14001
    Provisioning SEGW address: segw.uma.rogers.com
    SEGW certificate: ca.rogers.com

    source: http://apnaguy.com/tag/carogerscom/

After Step 2, the "Wifi-preferred" option appeared but I still could not access UMA.

Does anyone know if the cert/settings are different between fido and rogers?

Weird the way Rog has set this up.

    To get where I'm going:
    - visit rogers.com/data
    - click StudentPlans tab
    - click at bottom left, LegalDisclaimers
    - read: 11 [...] list of eligible devices at rogers.com/StudentWiFiCalling
    - so then we go there...
    - which redirects to a PDF (?!) file http://downloads.rogers.com/wireless...dent_Plans.pdf
    - Which says in part:
    How to activate Wi-Fi calling on your BlackBerry® 9700, 9100 or 9300?

You will be notified via a text message when the Wi-Fi Calling upgrade is available for your device and a notification icon will appear on your [graphic {!?}: "device's homescreen. Simply click on"] the icon and follow the installation instructions (no data charges will apply). Please make sure you do this before the 3-month unlimited local calling period is over.
So this is interesting on a couple of fronts:
    - OFFICIAL 91/93/9700 UMA support is either here or just around the corner it seems
    - what the heck is this "WiFi Calling upgrade" that is supposed to be forthcoming - ca.rogers.com certificate? BB OS upgrade? Other?

    Oddness, all round.

I upgraded my Rogers 9700 to .862 today and do not see UMA active. I have the device set to WiFi preferred. Weird.
