Anyone using GER Milestone on AT&T?

Has anyone experience this? Milestone won't ring when I am using the internet (non wifi) or connecting to the internet (up and down arrow active with Edge).

Is this something by designed? I have had other devices which is quadband GSM but connecting to AT&T via Edge and never experience this issue with an exception of iPhone 1/2G (we know all about that). Is it because something has to do with up and down channel blah blah on the phone itself or sth?

I love the phone, but can't afford to missed calls here and there. What about those who are using this with T-Mobile, any issues?

It's not the phone, it's the Edge network. Edge can't handle data and voice at the same time. You get 1 or you get the other. I don't know how your other phones handled this but perhaps they turned the data connection off as soon as you were done loading the page and that is why it appeared you got voice and data at the same time.

Just out of curiosity why didn't you get the Telus Milestone instead? Is there anyway you can sell the German one and buy the Telus one?

This is so weird. I can be in the middle of browsing on my other phones and still get phone calls while on Edge.

I just want to try this device out because dream, magic, nexus uno and hero all failed to impressed me. And the fact that no one was selling Telus Milestone locally or willing to ship to NY.

Do you have Google Nav working (with or without rooting) on yours?

You don't need root for Google Nav. I'm in Canada so Google Nav doesn't really work for me, but if you're in the U.S. you should be able to just download it from the market and it'll work. It's location based, no carrier/phone bassed, so as long as you are in the U.S. Google nav should work on your phone

this is because of the edge network, not the phone, as said above. its just a crap shoot that the other phones "appear" to not have this happen, when it probably does. its just when you have an active data session and are pulling a completely full amount of data, the call will go directly to voicemail and not ring the phone. sometimes when web browsing there are very tiny breaks in the data stream, example loading a web page, that allows the call to break thru, tricking you into thinking this doesnt happen. but really it happens with all edge phones unless the network is specifically configured to not do this, which ATT's network is not set up to do this.

Hope you don't mind me asking but i am looking to pick up a unlocked Milestone but was concerned that the Google Nav was only with the contracted carriers (veriz/telus). So the Maps Voice Navigation works with your ATT Sim? How is the 3G performance?

Also, could you share where you purchased yours? One has to be very careful not to get the Euro version as the 3G will not work on ATT. Has to be Telus.

    Thank you
