The NE2 amount depends on when you last signed your 2-year contract and what price plan you have been on. You may only qualify for the $50 NE2 discount.
=> Read my reviews for the Samsung Droid Charge, HTC ThunderBolt, and Casio G'zOne Commando.

    => VX8000 at Disney World:Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

Upgraded today, No PTT, Pay as you go data

    Hi,

Just upgraded to the Brigade today on my daughter's line. She has an Env3 grandfathered in without data. The online order form gave me the choice of Pay as You Go- $1.99/Mb data, and didn't require the PTT either...so I went ahead and ordered it.

I know she will like the keyboard, but I'm afraid it will be too much of a brick for her back jeans pocket. On the other hand, I'm sure my son will like it -- he carries a Boulder now, and would love to get back to a full keyboard. This is his dream phone.

I expect in the next several days I'll be moving the Brigade to my son's line, if it allows me to without adding data. Will it work? I have no idea.

If my daughter doesn't want it and my son can't get it without data, it goes back...and I'll try again on my son's line in May when he has an upgrade.

    Gary

It has 1X and 3G EVDO Rev A, as do all current Verizon PTT phones.

Man the more I see this phone and think about what I still really like and need out of a phone the more I'm once again leaning towards just a basic MILSPEC bad boy.

    Thanks for the review.
Can the browser be improved upon with software upgrades, or is it always gonna be marginal?

Well, guess what i just got today from work? The "standby phone" that never gets used at work was long over do for an upgrade, so I asked the boss for a little favor... . I couldn't resist a free Brigade. So I am going to play with it for a while.
I do have a few minor complaints...external keypad does not light up while locked and does not light up until you press one extra button after the initial unlock. Other complaint is outside display does not "time out", so when you go to unlock it...the last screen you were on is still displayed. So far though i am getting a little more used to the qwerty style.

    Lucky Duck!

I just saw it for the first time today much cooler then anticipated.
It would be great to have qwerty and good camera with flashlight!
Plus everyone has a droid or iphone I like to be different
If I needed Internet everywhere I would just get a 4G card from sprint, so I might pull the trigger on this one.

Today 3 more corp stores and still the same outcome.

I cannot get the phone without the data plan.

My guess is the browser on it will be as good as it gets.
The browser is "functioning as intended" so its not like there's a bug to fix.
It's just that the browser is more of quasi-HTML, not full-HTML.
