First Official Response to WIND: Bell Will Give $150 Credit for Porting From WIND

I got word today that Bell will give a flat $150 credit (As oppose to Wind who will give 5x$30 credits) to those who port over from Wind, and sin a 36mth contract.

Solo will do the same, but if you sign a 2 year contract.

And before you say "Oh still have to sign a 36mth contract! boo-urns!" There is a month to month offer mentioned, but i'm reluctant to mention it just yet, as I need to confirm its accuracy, and it doesn't exactly apply to any/all Wind customers.

Once I confirm it about 3 times (As it seems like it's too good of a deal) then i'll post it.

Please let me know if you are successful. I was planning to call Bell once they launch here in Ottawa sometime this month.

I assume I wouldn't have much to bargin with before hand. I'll also ask them to credit my $3 Text Messaging (30 sent) and if they can add on (for free) 100 Canadian Long Distance.

Let you know if i'm successful in what? The $150 credit offer is confirmed. The second month to month offer is catered towards former Bell subscribers as a win back option. And i'm not looking to test that out myself

I'll let you know once i've verified the win back offer however.

Hm... I wonder if I could convince a bell rep into giving me this if I port from fido....

Guaranteed I'll get: "stfu and hang up" but I'll try. A boy can try.
Another insightful and thought provoking post...

Why not port from fido to wind, and then to Bell? First month is free on Wind anyway.

I may have to do that. But wind can take a long time to port and I like my phone lol. Plus, although I may live in Calgary, most of my time is spent in an away zone. And i doubt they would cover away zone charges in their first month free offer.

So MacD. When is this going to be implemented. I just called Bell and they told me they have no such offer and are not aware of one coming. Also said they are not offereing N.A. data roaming as per Rogers.

It's effective immediately as far as i'm aware. Your best bet would be asking someone in activations about it, as oppose to CS. Even though they should be aware of it as well. I haven't asked my store rep about it yet, so I don't know if it's been communicated to them.

And MStar confirmed the data roaming in the other thread, as you are aware. There's no need to cross that discussion into this thread.

Well I don't know what to tell ya. Some employees aren't up to date on the latest offerings I guess.

Bell really needs to open the $150 credit offer to existing customers. I left Bell for Wind last week and do not intend on porting back. Had this offer been available to me before I ported to Wind, I may have re-considered.

Well like I said, Bell has a winback offer for customers who ported to Wind, but I want to verify it before I post it.

Just be prepared for pathetic Wind coverage compared to Bell. I really hope the $150 is worth it to you

This is a very valid point. If I do end up leaving Wind, it will be most likely due to coverage issues. Hopefully by that time the Big 3 will have better, more competitive plans available to the general public. For now I'll try to stick it out with Wind.
