    Can't access Gmail using Tracfone

When I try to access Gmail, my phone says: "Error: Request
exceeded maximum number of redirects". I have tried to access Gmail
almost every day for the last 10 days and always get the same
error message. Sometimes it lets me get to the login screen and I can
type in my username and password, but then when I click login it gives
me the error message. Other times it will give me the error message
when I click on the Gmail link and I can't even get to the screen for
    entering the username password.

I have used a lot of airtime minutes trying to access Gmail. Each
time that I try to access it I have to wait about 2 minutes before I
    get the error message.

I sent the Tracfone customer service rep "Elston" an email and he replied:

"I am sorry to hear that you having problem but that is something with the web-site there is nothing in our end to correct that."

When I click on the "browser" button, there is a link for email, and Gmail is one of the providers that Tracfone links to. The phone is a Tracfone phone with web access, a Samsung T301G.

When Tracfone took over 2 weeks trying to activate my phone, they had me enter about 10 different codes into my phone. I wonder if one of those codes made it so that I can't access Gmail.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I just put a lot of minutes on my phone and would hate to have to throw it away because Tracfone ruined it.

I don't have an answer to your question. But the error message you were getting was the same one I was getting while trying to accessing my Gmail account on my desktop computer yesterday morning. When it happened, I could not get into my Gmail for about 10 minutes. I closed the web browser (I use Firefox), cleared cache, private data, history, etc but nothing helped except the passage of time. All of a sudden it just started to work again (10 min later) as if nothing happened. It's working fine today. I have no idea what happened, but it was basically the same error message.

    False Advertising?

When someone clicks on the 'help' link on the Tracfone mobile site, question number three is:

"3. Which mobile sites do I have access to?

You have access to all the sites listed under the Mobile Web menu."

Gmail is one of the sites listed under the Mobile Web menu, yet I have tried every day for 3 weeks to access it but keep getting the error message every time.

Should I contact the Better Business Bureau or my state's Attorney General?

Tracfone sold me a phone that they claim can access Gmail, but it can't. I would like Tracfone to try to fix this problem, instead of saying that the problem is Gmail's and not Tracfone's. If they can't fix it, they should give me a phone that actually is able to access Gmail, like they claim that my phone is supposed to be able to do.

Have you tried clearing your history, cache, and cookies?

When I called customer service they had me reset all the settings. That didn't fix the problem.
