Read it and weep.
Should we get ready for a "no removable batteries" announcement soon?

the United States is the land of the FREE because of the BRAVE!! Thank You to all who serve or have served and their families in the United States armed services!! Your sacrifices are NOT in vain may God continue to bless America
For God so loves YOU, He gave His only Son....John 3:16
I just read that, I guess MS is taking the Apple path... What the heck is wrong with them![]()
this is another reason for me to be more excited about the HD2, WM 6.5 seems so far much better
Completely backwards.
I wonder if Microsoft is trying to kill Windows Mobile on purpose. The iPhone has cut and paste, and the Droid has cut and paste, two of the most popular smartphones out there, I don't see how they can possibly expect to get back in the game by pulling stunts like this.

Heck. My TM506 has copy and paste. It's not even a smartphone. It can multitask too. The world is slowly becoming opposite land, you know like when you were a kid and said everything opposite. My dumbphone can multitask and copy and paste, and new smartphones cannot.Originally Posted by ilvla2

this is recreating a wheel when you already have one. All they had to do is overhaul and improve what they already had. it's almost funny...sort of sad...can't decide.

there's also no SD card support. Only internal memory.![]()
it looks like C&P is not in for the initial launch but the device will launch with the smart linking and it looks like it might be on the table for the future. Here is offical MS response to C&P
Windows Phone 7 Series will not initially offer copy and paste; instead, we try to solve the most common uses for copy and paste via single-tap action. For example, people often want to take an address and view it on a map, highlight a term in the browser and do a search or copy a phone number to make a call. Instead of the user manually doing a copy and paste in these scenarios, we recognize those situations automatically and make them happen with just one touch. In our early testing people have been pleased with this approach, but we're always listening to feedback and will continue to improve our feature set over time based on what we hear.
Totally insane. Microsoft thinks that they can copy Apple and siphon off sales from iPhone. IPhone users will never buy Microsoft. It's like a religious thing.
All Microsoft is going to do is catch some low lying "undecided" fruit, alienate those of us who like the power and flexibility of WinMobile, and garner laughter from the Apple crowd.
Mark my words.
When my Treo works no more, I'm headed to Android land. By then, they will have a stable, powerful phone OS with lots of applications.
MS has taken away most of the business/PDA features of this phone for more of a miltimedia handset. I don't understand why they cannot blend both.
Really? You have seen then release the business story around the device? The things we do know seem very business realated to me, Office, Sharepoint, OneNote...Originally Posted by omegajb

No one has said wether or not Smart Linking will work in office applications and as I posted above it sounds like C&P is not completely off the table for future updates.Originally Posted by omegajb
No custom homescreen? what does that mean, you need to have HTC Sense for this to be a business phone? How about the ability to basically create whatever homescreen you want. I think that being able to pin applications like stocks, documents, webpages is more business friendly then trying to use what HTC gives you today in sense or even what 6.5 default allows you to do.
Also MS said that Enterprise corporations wont have to put their applications through the marketplace, so Enterprises will have an avenue to have custome LOB apps installed on corporate devices. sounds pretty business friendly to me.
You can pin your applications right on the homescreen, and if the developer is good the tile for your application will be updating real time with new information.

I understand them finding better ways to use this but in case they haven’t thought about every scenario…then leave the feature in it. Why not?
Their solution still doesn't sound perfect, although it's better than NOTHING!
I switched from WM (HTC Fuze) to BlackBerry (Bold 9700) a month ago and so far I really like BB but it's stuff like this that WM is doing that has me thinking I made the right choice. I also will go on record saying that I believe Google's Android will RULE the mobile world soon! I like what I'm seeing from them and they have deep pockets (as does Microsoft) but they seem to be more intuitive to detail and understanding what the customer wants.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out but for now, my BB is awesome!
Either way, competition is a GOOD thing! It seems WM just isn't competing. I'm also concerned about BB (RIM) overall. Hopefully they can continue to evolve enough to keep their customers. If not it will be Apple and Google.
Do You Have The HTC TouchPro/Fuze? I feel sorry for you b/c it's complete JUNK! But...do Yourself A Favor And Visit This Webpage...
